I thinking of adapting a 324 olds to the stock early ford tranny. Just wondering if anyone had done this in a stock '35-'40 and whether or not the firewall had to be cut. Any other major issues?

reggie i measured one up against my '35 and yes the firewall would have had to be cut. the rocket engine is absoltely massive compared to a lot of other engines, the trans on them is pretty big too so you would need to cut the floor quite a it too.

Had many Olds yrs ago in Fords. W/early Ford boxes, a 39-48 needs
nothing cut. My Duece wasn't cut body wise with a La Salle box either.

How about '35 and '36 fords? I would think the firewall-to-radiator location is the same thru 1940, right?

  6. We did an Olds in 36 back in 66. We used an adapter. The problem was the front cross member. It was too shallow. I seem to remember being told then that they had two front cross members. Reggie it would look neat in your new 36. I'm jelous.
