Nice to see so many Oregonians on here. I'm in Rogue River myself. I'm not a native, but I got here as fast as I could.

Lol, no but here's a funny (I thought so anyway) story: my son got his first speeding ticket about a year ago, doing 72 in a 55 mph construction zone (at night, long after work had ceased for the day). The ticket was $360. Even though he's still in high school, he has always worked 2 jobs to buy what he wants, so he got to pay the ticket. He was actually happy to see it was so cheap (?). I asked him why he thought it was cheap and he said, a buddy of his in California got a ticket for about 10 mph over, not in a construction zone and his fine was $450. He said "man, everything's better in Oregon!"

Having come from Northern Cal, on the coast, last week's rain (for what a few days?) wasn't too worrisome. When I was younger, I saw a bridge taken out by logjams in the river on highway 101 (Eel River bridge by Metropolitan, 1984 IIRC) . It wasn't a small bridge, either and was out for over a year before it was repaired. I've seen mudslides that were over a mile across that swallowed several homes (Stafford, Ca , late '90's) due to rain that went for weeks. The Rogue Valley typically has months and months with zero rain, so I don't exactly build an Ark just because it rained hard a couple days. Now if I lived in Washington....

Just happens that I do....found them in between pages of old Mechanics Illustrated Magazine's at a estate sale my brother was doing...the old guy had every issue from 1933 to 1970's... I especially like the drivers license, on the back side having places for a cop to sign if you got a ticket....
