we are about to do a cam-lifter swap on a buddies series 55' series 62. any body have any tips or tricks that i need to know before we start. thanks kel.
No clue to style cam and lifter setup you are using but stock parts are fairly staightforward . The stock Cads and early Olds did not have any adjustment for solid cams unless you find the now rare "export" rockers and matching covers . Several aftermarket guys , Gotha , Thomas , are two, did also .Adjustable pushrods are still available by dimension . Those engines had timing chain/gear issues also as did many early OHV V/8s . Another thing is rocker shafts and arms that if neglected would stop oiling and gall from sludge build up so be sure to make sure they are clean and usuable . Let us know more about your project .
