Great, now you guys have got me staring at the Topolino body in the back yard wistfully... Must concentrate... must finish Roadster pick up... must finish customers bantam... must finish girlfriends Ranchero.... AARRGG!!!!
You gotta love Phil Luken's famous Blair's Speed Shop Topolino. With a Donovan Hemi, B & J planetary transmission. Runs 7.20s. Bob Dietz, and Dave Ward campaign this terrorizer:
damn cheap camera makes everything red and rusty looking.... but Lil Beast made it to rolling status over the weekend...now to stuff the steering in there.............
Wow what a great response and such cool photo's (run out yet Rich?) plus even a few orders placed for the die cast ones. Much appreciated (sharing photo's... and sales). Few more of the Magic Muffler 1:18 version. \ IN CASE YOU WANT a 1:18 (one last link)
WOW!!!! Really great pics of Fiats. Thanks for showing them... In regards to the Magic Muffler Fiat GMP Diecast car, it's too bad that GMP didn't get it right with this one. If you look at the pics of the real car, you can see so much that they got wrong with replicating the real car. 1 - They used the Reath Automotive kit to replicate this Magic car. These are two completely different cars but GMP didn't want to do any tooling, so they cheaped out and used the Reath car model. 2 - The motor sits way too low in the car compared to the real car. 3 - There is a 4 port injector and the Magic car never - ever ran a 4 port. 4 - Wrong front axle. 5 - Rearend way way too wide. 6 - They put a Quickchange rearend in it. The Magic car had an olds rearend. 7 - The interior is 100 percent incorrect. It looked nothing like the way GMP made it. 8 - The decals on the right side of the body are placed wrong. 9 - Radious arms are completely wrong. 10 - Rear wheels are wrong. 11 - Rear push bar is wrong. 12 - Parachute completely wrong. 13 - Firewall is wrong. 14 - There is more but I'll leave that up to everyone else to compare the kit with pics of the real car. Basically the whole car is wrong and this is not like GMP to do this. Normally when they do a car for someone they get it very correct. Unfortunately, with the Magic Muffler Fiat, they got everything wrong with trying to replicate a very famous and important car in the history of Drag racing. Too bad .....
Awesome thread! Love those Topos. All of Richs' pictues just prove I NEED an un-chopped body!! Mine is cool, but want unchopped... Mine just got bumped further back in the line as I just bought a '34 Ford 5-window That will get done next.
As you can see with the Magic Muffler Fiat, all GMP did was just use the Reath car / chassis / rearend etc etc etc to make the Magic car. EVERYTHING is wrong on the new GMP Magic Muffler in regards to making an exact copy or replica of the original car. GMP cheaped out on this one. Too bad because the Magic Muffler car is really a beautiful historic Fuel altered and GMP just couldn't get it right here. The ONLY thing GMP got right on this Fiat is the color. Everything else is wrong.
A friend of mine in Hickory N.C. , Eddie Wards car, he keeps improving it. Im gonna challenge him to a grudge race when I get my turbo motor in my bug. Its a metal car.
