The car show will be Saturday May 8th at McPherson College in McPherson, KS, home of the only 4 year auto restoration program. It is open to any car and the college will be giving tours. Feel free to bring your hot rod, custom or whatever you got. If you are intersted in registering early or have any questions, you can shoot me a private message or you can just register the day of show. The show begins at 8:00 am Saturday morning and awards are at 3:00 pm. The Friday night before there will be a cruise, in downtown McPherson, at 6:00 PM. At 1:00 PM the day of the show, Jeff Mahl, the great grandson of George Schuster, driver of the Thomas Flyer and winner of the 1908 New York to Paris Great Automobile Race will be giving a presentation. Feature cars include a historic 1932 Deuce roadster hot rod, 1959 Cadillac and a Lagonda Speedster.
Ya it would probably be a good idea for you to show Tim. Here is the link for registration: http://www.mcpherson.edu/technology/CARSshowform2010.pdf
I'll be there running the sales booth. If anybody from here is coming stop by and introduce yourself. Hope to see a lot of you guys out there.
For anyone going, the show in McPherson has some REALLY nice cars of a lot of different styles, plus some cool tours. Wish I could make it, just have to figure out the whole cloning thing so I can do 2 places at once!
Sounds like a great show, however I will not be able to make it, But thanks for the thought. Take lots of pics so we all can see what we missed out on....
Do you have a name and phone number for someone on the faculty there I can call with questions about the program? Thanks!
Brian Martin is the guy you want to talk to. His number isn't available on the college's website. Just call the college and ask for Brian. (800) 365-7402
Great show today, you guys did a great job. Got by the sales booth, but it was already closed up and we had to hit the road. We had a good tour and the Auto Restoration facilites are freakin awesome. Matt Tobias was a great tour guide. If all goes as planned my son will be there in 2011. PM me and let me know how to order one of the show t-shirts and posters?
Demonspeed what all did you have out there? I was busy most of the day with the model T build but I was lookin for some of the cars from your album and didn't think I saw any? Maybe I'm blind X)
Here are some pictures of the Model T we disassembled on the sidewalk of the college and then reassembled in 18 minutes.
54 and Okie, So sorry that Frankie and I could'nt make it down. We had full intentions of supporting your show. Frankie's car has the engine pulled (but we went and got a replacement on Sunday!!!) and my 56 Gasser blew a hole in the cylinder wall two weeks ago from banging the gears and burning some rubber down at the shop. I am sooooo bummed but now is the reason to put the killer mill in it that will scare the hell outta all small children and old ladies on the streets of KC. We really wanted to drive the gasser down and infiltrate any of the mod restored klan there Ha ha!!! Frankie is soooo excited about coming down there this Fall for classes and she has told me a lot about you. You sound like great guys. If you make it up for GREASERAMA this year stop by and introduce yourself. It will be nice to know that my girl is hanging with some "like" people while attending classes at Mc Pherson. ERIC
Cool Eric, sorry to hear about the 56! I'll be excited to see it out at Greaserama this year! Hopefully some of the students can put something together to bring out to the show. I know I plan on makin it up with one of our rods or bikes. Let me know if you want some help gettin the word out down here about your guy's show, I will be down here all summer. Good hearin from you man. Like usual I can't wait for Greaserama.
