i just found this 51 merc looking for some history on it , i think it's from nor-cal bay area,it's purple, with gold ,interior is the same with gold flake inserts ,it a 2 dr with a carson top----
is the top removable? that looks alot like larry lorenzo's old merc from the 50's http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_..._cars/watson_custom_cars/larry-lorenzo-watso/
Looks pretty cool! LOTS of potential there.... Pretty sure the Larry Lorenzo Merc was a real convertable, not a Carson topped, Coupe.
Just don't start asking about Airplane gauges and 40 Ford headlights,LOL....WTF!!!! I'll add you to the list!!! Does it run? Post some pic's on the HAMB Merc Club thread....
is it me or does that look like it used to be a four door?i mean were the Carson top stops at the back seem a bit odd for a tudor....may be the pic angle?
id say its a tudor, unless somebody went thru the hassle of putting rear fenders and changing the rocker seam
I don't want to piss you off Tommy, but the back of that top is ugly! Doesn't flow with the back of the car. Don't you think?
Here's a Merc with one of Dick Dean's glass tops that I take at his place in Ca. Note the rear window opening of other top on fence. TwoChops
