Wow what an informative thread! I've read every post in detail over the past few days trying to grab all the information I can get to help me decide how I am going to lower my newly acquired 54. I also wanna keep it as stock as possible but still be able to drive it everywhere. I too do not want to go the bag route either but want the capabilities of having the trunk full of luggage or passengers in the back. I've just built a set of 3" blocks for the back and plan on cutting 1 1/2 coils out of the front. I'm gonna try and get it done soon so I can drive it before winter and see how it rides! If everything is good then it's on to a Fenton dual carb intake with Fish carbs and split manifolds for the newly rebuilt 235. I love my new old Chevy!!!
