    Okay boys and girls.

Don't know if you remember or not but Jimmy Hervatin created a Hot Rod from a painting that Keith Weesner Painted called Emerald Tide. If you haven't seen that build here is a link to it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378992 You will be amazed. Well Jimmy toured several shows in it in 2010 along with his son and wife that I will just call WC (Wild Child). Just kiddin Deb. So he has decided to build another Hot Rod created by the Weez. It's a 51 F1 Ford Pickup called LIT UP. Keith is an accomplished artist and here's a link to his web site. http://www.keithweesner.com/ Check it out. Keith has a lot of talent.

Here's what jimmy is going to create. LIT UP

When Jimmy gets a notion to do something he pulls out all the stops and doesn't hold back on anything. This guy's got so much talent it's not funny. Jimmy does some searching and comes. up with a 51 Ford donor truck. Most guys look for the best one they can find but Jimmy can fix anything and I mean anything. Here's the truck.

Next he pulls it apart and sandblast the cab.

Then he decide's to chop the top and section the cab. The chop will be 5 1/2" in the back and 6" in the front. The section will be 1 1/2" in different area's of the mid section as you can tell by the pics. First he decides to section the cab.

    Then put's it back together.

Then he chop's it and starts cutting.

Since the truck has a severe chop the back window would be a mail slot so he only chop's the rear window area 3".

Since the rear window is pretty wide it would look out of proportion so he narrows the window to 28" and then lowers the window to give it the right look. Before he finishes the rear window area he makes a wood buck and a new top on his owner built Yoder hammer.

Here he does some finishing work on his planishing hammer.

    Then he welds it in

    Here's the finished top

As a friend of mine (Lynn Pew) always says. Stay tooned for the updates.

Yes!! I'm frigging excited that Jimmy's building another Weesner-designed car. I absolutely loved the Emerald Tide.. Very beautifully done. Jimmy's build-up of that truck is what got me hooked on Weesner, so many kudos goes to this guy.

I'm looking toward seeing the build up pictures of this one! Subscribed!

Another amazing project from the most amazing shop I can recall and run by a man so talented it makes me wonder if he's made a contract with the devil to turn out the quality he does.

Once Jimmy gets it to this point he puts the cab back on the frame and lowers the frame with a 3" dropped Axle and flip's the rear end. Then he mock's up the motor and fender to see how it is going to sit. He decides it doesn't sit low enough and does some investigating on how to lower it more.

No problem for a man with this kind of talent. He says I think I can build a lowered frame easier that I can lower the stock one. So he decides to do just that. Now this is where it seperates the men from the boys. First he draws it up on his computer.

Then he proceedes to cut it out with his laser.

After he cuts it out he runs it through his sander and here is the finished product.

He cuts an inner and outer frame rail and bends a 90 degree bend on them and then welds it in the middle to make a boxed frame rail.

Then he puts it on his jig table and welds it together. This thing is a piece of art.

WaLa!!! One complete 51 ford truck frame that is lowered a total of 10"

The rectangle holes in the top and bottom frame rails will be curved and put in later. He had to do that so he could bend the frame rails in the brake.

For those of you that haven't seen Emerald Tide, He is planning on be at the Lonestar Roundup this year and I'm trying to talk him into bringing
Lit UP at what ever stage it's at. I think i have convinced him. It will be the first time that Weez has seen the new project. It will be your chance to buy a print of Emerald Tide and Lit Up and have them signed by the Weez and Jimmy the metal man. Stay tooned there will be more to come.

I saw Emerald Tide in person at the Street Rod Nationals and it was just amazing. I can't wait to see how this one turns out.
