So ,just picked up this one owner 39 DeLuxe Coupe That has been of the road since 1972.
50 years in dry storage. It has some bumps and battle scars but not too rusty and 100% complete and original except for the 59 ab engine that replaced the original 91a at some point in the cars life.It even still has it's original Motorola 3 peice tube radio and the accessory "airplane" shock absorbers. Floors are rust free and tool compartment and covers still in place. All the gauges still work. Keep looking guys, they really are still out there !

They are still out there........and will be until the end of the world. Unless it burns to the ground our old cars will be here long after we are gone

Yes, very solid! I had been looking for a 39 coupe to put a 331 caddy in but this one is such a survivor that i don't really want to do that. Plus, the 59 ab in it runs really strong, fires right up and has great oil pressure so if i keep the car i will most likely clean it up, new tires ( the ones on it are farm implement tires) maybe work on a better stance and some bolt on flatty speed stuff. It won't be restored as long as i own it. The orig. patina is incredible. Basically go thru everything to be sure it's safe and reliable and enjoy it. I have had a few interesting offers since posting the pics but don't think i want to sell it at this point. Bob

  21. So was it advertised, or did you find it through word of mouth? Was it an estate situation? Thanks for sharing. I know revealing the price is always a ticklish subject, but did you have to pay a premium, it looks pretty sweet.

Ticklish subject, common, it was the elephant in the room. Nice car, great find, but yea, in light of some recent topics on the forum, how much is the burning question everyone with a unfinished over price car is wondering.

    Tremendous !!!
Like your plans for it. I much prefer the ‘39 over the ‘40. Keep us posted with it.

I like the 39 Deluxe and 40 Standards the best, must be that grille. Nice score, good luck.
