  3. Best of luck for the last squeeze Jim! Remember to tell us the total mileage on that comfy office of yours when you get home. You must have titanium backbone connected to hi-nickel cast ass.

You may call it a stupid trip but you will probably get an argument or two from some of the railbirds on here. As we all get older it is the memories that help keep us sane. Keep up the good work you obviously have more than a few fans on the HAMB. Good luck today.

    thanks everyone

I also want you to know that I'm planning to head down to the Roadkill Zip Tie Drags in St Louis (Gateway) Saturday. we will try to head out tonight after the awards ceremony for Drag Week. I have a room down there already so I have to make it. Fun event, I did the first one in Tucson last January. Quite a different crowd of people than you see at any other car event...so bring your sense of humor!

When I grow up I wanna be like you. Racing on a Monday morning. Keep your head strait, don't worry about the competition and act like it's just you and the car. God bless

Not to sound like a complete idiot, but why are so many cars sitting at the lights after green? Or am I just missing something? It's just for time, but...

They are not racing each other. Just running next to each other for a time. Zero matchmaking. Each days best run is averaged together for the week. If they red light they might need to wait hours for another run. So it is not a traditional race but a time trial.

Right I got that, but I didn't realize that if they redlit the time wouldn't count at all. Makes sense now.

Imagin the story the tow truck driver is telling! " Well we got a call about a guy from Arizona who's truck broke down. We get there and low and behold the truck is a 58 CHEVY. And on the trailer is a straight axle , altered wheel base 62 Chevy 2 with a blower no less! When the guy can't get the truck fixed right away, he unloads the Chevy 2 and heads off to the Midwest to run at a bunch of different drag strips all week! " The story only gets better if he drives the car back home to Arizona and comes back to pick up his truck and trailer with a 57 CHEVY SUBURBAN!! No disrespect to the tow truck driver but I seem to have Gomer Pyle's voice suck in my head at the moment. Schsamm!! Good luck Jim ! Have a safe trip Wish I had your Kahunnas! Larry
