Good luck Jim!!!!
How many in your class?
there is a driver meeting in the morning, then we start racing. Not sure exactly what time, but try to get there early.
Let's see that "Squirrel shirt" Jim.! You need to make some of the Chevy II, and sell them; looks like you've got quite a following here on the HAMB. Keep on keepen' on. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Sending good vibes!
Well cool, we all expect to see a photo of a time slip tomorrow night. If those Squirrel racing Chevy II T shirts come available I'll take a 3X.
Rootin' for ya Jim!!

Good work Jim and to think the little Chevy had what 1200 miles on it getting there? Joe

Respectful times on your slip. Good luck.
...got to talk with Jim today at Cordova and wish him well from all HAMBers,..
told him he's a hero to many of us, he said "I'm just drivin my car"....it's a clean little unit, I thot the pic thru the sideglass window came out cool...
Are you telling me, that you Drove that car there, and you're running 10s! Shit! You are the Man!
Running from memory here, you break out of your class if you get into the 9's? Seems like a sub-10 pass is in reach based on that slip. Well done!
Pretty sure he did a high 9 first past last year!
I'm remembering that as well, but also that it was a problem for his class. I have slept since then...

I was watching the stream, announcers said the index for that particular class was 10.00, a car went 9.80's,but was not allowed to turn in that time slip
See Jim's pass at 1:15:19 on the stream for day 1.
That chevelle needs a sign on it that says Snail power
I think the reason he stays in the 10's is a tech thing. You get into the 9's you need a whole bunch of extra safety items. Then you might get the privilege of obtaining a license for that speed as well. It gets your doctors attention when you need to have an ekg done and you have to pay cash for it. Insurance will not pay for it. NHRA says you need it.
I can't seem to watch the video (claims an error), but that this thread is awesome, Jim is as well, and that little car is dang quick!
