  5. ...Well,...your race car is called "Plan II" !
...I really wanted to check out your pickup,...good luck with the rest of your trip.

  7. You don't get stories like this siting in a lawn chair at the cruise night around the corner. You need to get your hotrod out on the road and drive it. If you can't drive it outside your own zip code...you have failed. Way too many cars with 3 gallon gas tanks, and seating positions that a Russian gymnast couldn't fit into. Kudos to you Squirrel for not letting anything get in the way of a good time.

I couldn't believe you sold the Suburban, I thought it was a great re-engineered and well executed project. Hope your butt isn't too sore from kicking yourself.:)
Glad to see you making the best of it. Good luck!

Did you look in the pan of the TH400? My 700r4 quit a couple months ago, two days after I had the radiator repaired. They must have gotten some crap in the tank because the filter was plugged, either that or strange coincidence. New filter, going strong...

So got an Edsel and a Corvair to live thru a race, and the truck craps out on you. Were you out of bubble gum and baling wire?

I don't know if it's bad voodoo or what, but over the years I've heard a lot of bad stories involving trying to drag a race car through New Mexico. Tucumcari seems to figure into many of them for some reason.

Hoping you packed the ol' 3.00 gear'd spare 3rd member, or might possibly score an affordable used one on the way. That "alot" gas station comment made me ponder the highway rpm. Thanks for the updates & admire your determination to press forward. As always we're rooting for you & Plan B ! Flux.

If any of you guys need anything when you get to IL, I'm located in Freeport, just about the center of all the activities. I have a 2 car garage with 88' of double wide concrete driveway outside. I have some tools & equipment available. Gene

My friend Dan is riding with me. He's been on drag week with me three times already.

The Chevy II has a gear vendors overdrive now and 3.89 rear cogs. Cruises at 68 mph fine. Kind of a handful to handle at higher speeds with the bias tires and altered wheelbase.

Thanks for all the offers of help! Hope we don't need any, but it's a great feeling to know folks are willing to help.
