Just scored a couple flatheads (for free) and they are most likely junk. Been sitting outside for years. Anything I can soak these things in for a couple months to MAYBE free them up? ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1462049028.192774.jpg

Brake fluid is great for unseizing engines.

Everyone seems to have their secret potion when it comes to what will free up a stuck by rust engine. I'd think I'd try the molasses trick using a barrel that I could set the whole block assembly in for a good length of time and let it work.

Yeah, they're in pretty rough shape, but it's always worth a shot.

Do yourself a favor and pull the pan to see if the pan rail is cracked prior to investing any further effort.

If I was going to try, I'd give it a 50/50 mix of ATF and kerosene.

Anyone know why these motors cracked in this area?

There was a thread here a couple of years ago about a guy who freed up an old engine by filling the valley full of charcoal, covering it after lighting it, and let it burn until it was out, IIRC it was an old hemi and it worked.
