So I got her a snail instead Only 9k more until 200k Went to Lucky's Speed Shop to get my new driveshaft installed. He has got all kinds of cool shit Bonneville Project Lucky's Roadster This thing is not uploading tonight I'll try again tomorrow Bob
Obviously I don't have the hang of this new system yet as evidenced by the 2 attachments at the bottom. BB
More from Lucky's His roadster Getting a new driveshaft installed That should cure the vibration problem. One more of some of his stuff. Moving on to Fat Lucky's Nice Roadster in for a new interior I would love to have this wall hanging Then it's time to visit the Old Crow Speed shop and view the collection of Bobby Green. First thing that greets us is a visitor from Alabama Race car project and Roaster with a flatty Reaching the limit here, will continue on the next post BB .
Looks like a lot of junk in the rafters, actually it's Belly Tanks This thing is giving me fits, I'm gonna try a new post for the rest of these BB
I love seeing the updates of your trip Bob. It was good to see that you made it up into southern Oregon. Welcome!
Holy Hannah, Bob! Seen all those places, (lived in some of those towns) but NEVER in just...so many days! LOL You and your pretty gal sure get around! Glad you were able to find good guys for the tranny, P/S, and driveshaft fixes. Ex wife and I ate at the Nepenthe many times, (we lived in Aptos on the beach in the '70s) One time had coffee with Kim Novack...(she lived right below the Nepenthe)
Will try again for the second pic of the tanks in the rafters, it only came up as a thumbnail in the last post. Seems like if you go to more options it works better. Old sprint Car A blown V8 60 I just love these tiny motors This is my favorite of his cars, I like it much better with the 34 Chevy hood sides though A Banger with a Frontenac OHV Bigfoot to commentate his Bigfoot Bar, he don't fit in that coupe. Just a couple more 32's no big deal Banner form the oilers club out east, the host's of the ROG which we are gonna attend this year. Ain't never seen a Belly Tank Pedal before. Del occupies the other side of the shop and does more modern motors like this twin turbo monster and the beautiful quick change in the second photo Nice collection of club jackets Now it's telling me that I can't upload any more photos. Will be continued in the next post. BB B
The old Crow and Maggie, she still follows me around after all these years. He sure does have a lot of chit !!!!!!!!!! Being from the Beer State, how could we not have taken this pic of the Miller Brewery on the 210. The Grain towers are painted like the original Lite Beer Cans, Coolio !!!!!!!! BB
I'm almost positive this roadster was found in Denver...it was built around here a long time ago...wondered why I hadn't see it around here for a while... R-
A Rose between 2 Thorns, the Chebby between 2 Fords. Margaret & I going into the back entrance of Early Ford Parts in San Dimas. All of these cars are for sale, didn't ask prices but there was a guy seriously interested in the 40 coupe. This is the back door, there are fenders hanging from the ceiling and it is just packed full a lot of these are NOS for example a 52/54 Ford right front fender. The door to the rear office neat signs. There is that Ford fender the I mentioned above. Anybody want a dropped axle? Grille shells til hell won't have them. And dashboards too. They even have inliner stuff, I have never seen 2 McGurk valve covers in the same place before. And even an intake from McGurk Lot's of flatty stuff also. That brings back memories, 5 cent coke. Lots of flatty intakes, too high up to make out the manufacturer. Seems I have reached the maximum number again. To be continued. BB
Lots of accessory items I was afraid to ask the pricing on these beauties. He has cabinet after cabinet filled with cool shit. Visible Gas Pump and Steering wheels Galore That's about it for the Early Ford Store. Next stop THE BOMB FACTORY. If I can find it, it has been 10 years since I have been there and there is no signage to let you know and the gate is locked. We did find it and both Joe & Jay were there working so we got a quick tour and split. First thing that caught my attention was this truck, the lettering on the door indicates that that it came from Wisconsin as that is the only Friesland that I know of. As it turns out this cab was purchased from Alan E. back home. He had the whole fire truck and the town wanted to buy it back but never made an offer so he sold it to the Kennedy Brothers at THE BOMB FACTORY. 51 Merc more door and truck cabs waiting their turn. Bicycles and more toys. COOLIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is not a project, it's a career. I don't know what this is and didn't want to go into the trailer to examine it closer. This one is for you Royal Shifter, lots of Tiki's Flathead dragster with a ton of history. Reached the limit again, Too be continued. BB
Picked up right where we left off. This was cool as hell. Neat ol fire suit I told Joe & Jay that if that Thermometer was missing it wasn't me. Old roundy round car I guess they can't decide which grille shell to use I love the side aprons Lots of projects going on here, it's basically just the 2 brothers. How many shops do you know that have a turn style at the front gate Guess what, we have reached the max again and with only a couple of pictures left from today. BB
We had lunch at Pozzetto's restaurant. The Clams were delicious And it also had the distinction of being right next to the EARLY FORD STORE. That is today's activity's, tomorrow evening it's off to Ventura to visit Kiwi Kev and his awesome collection. BB
Bob K. I am so jealous of your trips. Thanks so much for all the pictures and stories. Can't wait for the Kiwi Kev pictures.
Damn you BB, now I'm jealous and hungry. Looks like another epic trip. Thanks for sharing the pics. Keep 'em coming, I think I've done all the road tripping I'm going to be doing this year. I need to live vicariously.
I wanna be just like you when I grow up! I was read g about that little roadster with the cycle fenders in a Rodders Journal.
I missed you by a couple blocks in San Dimas (I was @ Motel 6) and Old Crow's only a couple miles from my shop. At least we got to talk in S.M. APPLE PIE
The Ol girl looks a lot better with the Caddy wheel covers, can't keep them on when on the road though as they tend to come off. Pool at the Red Roof Inn in San Dimas The center courtyard has a lot of flowers, all in all a very nice motel at a very attractive price. Jeff & Tad Johnson (He is Jeff J on here) at Andrea's restaurant at the Ventura Harbor. The Shrimp boats are coming their sails are in sight The first thing I noticed at Kiwi Kevs, an Almquist manifold There is so much cool chit here that it would take 300 pictures but I'll just post a few of the ones that interested me. Those young ladies are actually handles from drinking mugs. Quite a jacket collection. Awesome gas pedal collection This one has prolly been posted a million times That's all for this post but will be continued. BB
It just never ends I love V8 60's Surf Boards, I guess if you live in Ventura you gotta have em. He is open on Sunday That sign is a 3 piece wodde This is the what he calls the Junkyard out the back door of the shop. His daughter in the caddy pedal car As it sits today, daughter is all grown up More junk Cool old thermometers Too be continued BB
