    He recorded some stuff under that name also........sorta comedy theme stuff....

    I thought that this was going to be about Robert Palmer. he just died of a heart attack. Age 54.

    There's not too many of the originals left.
    I love Shebs records from the early 50s on MGM.
    Great hillybilly boogie.

    As I opened this thread "Addicted to Love" came on the radio in my office. Saw him a couple of years ago in concert. Not one of my favorite music men but he put on one hell of a good show. 54 is just too young. Kinda scary

    I remember when "Purple People Eater" came out. I was 11 and my pals and I loved it and sat around trying to imagine what the "Eater" looked like. There was an oval track racer from up-island who ran a purple Deuce coupe in '59 and named it after Shep's song. Thanks for the tune Shep! - R.I.P.
