I have heard people say that you can never have too much horsepower but if there is a limit for HP to weight of the car, this combo has to be pushing the limit to the redline. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to hear it roar.

I have seen two other Willys Coupes that had Cammer Motors

I am trying Hard!!! I will never be able to race it, or cut it loose, but Noise, and a few Burn outs, never hurt!

You can never have too much HP, but you can have too little traction! :D

Yes, I read the entire thread. A Willys w/ a Cammer wasn't the main inspiration for my post but it's a dream car, one that would keep me going in tough times ;)

There was a guy named Pete(?) Garramone who took lots of pictures of Colorado drag race cars back then. He captured my Austin gasser in an earlier form. Try searching for his photos or asking around about him, he may have more pictures of your Willys.
Keep up the good work, every little accomplishment is a step in the right direction, no matter how small it seems.

That is a huge improvement and a good motivator. It’s starting to look more like a complete car and less like a project.

This should be the final placement of the 427. Waiting on a different oil pan, and dropped Vega pitman arm, before we set the real Cammer in. She is taking shape. 20220408_110717.jpg 20220408_110628.jpg 20220408_110617.jpg

Yes, it is definitely looking great. That dummy motor really caught my eye and looks better than most real motors to me.

All the sheet metal is on, and fitted. Needs some metal work, but that's the easy part. No Tilt, made a few cuts, and the Cammer fits. Next is light and handle fitment. Doors fit like a glove... pleased she has made it this far... 20220513_133945.jpg 20220513_133930.jpg 20220513_133923.jpg 20220513_133909.jpg 20220513_133945.jpg 20220513_133945.jpg 20220513_133930.jpg 20220513_133923.jpg 20220513_133909.jpg 20220513_133901.jpg 20220513_133945.jpg 20220513_133909.jpg 20220513_133901.jpg 20220513_133945.jpg 20220513_133930.jpg 20220513_133923.jpg 20220513_133909.jpg 20220513_133901.jpg

  21. It would be a shame to keep that hilborn 4 port injector hat hiden under the hood. Do you plan to close up the hole in the hood, or stick that scoop out of the hood?
