Hey John, Get a rope and load the Glock! Someone needs to die! I'll release the dogs and put out some hooks. Swankey Devils C.C. " A legend in his own bunker"
Seriously, find 'em, feed 'em to the hogs. (Pull the teath FIRST. Dental records. Digging through hogshit sucks!! [of course I'm joking]) That shit aint cool. Stealing classic cars is a sin!!! One of the worst (AFAIC) Hoping there was some "identifiable" shit done to it...??? Thieves are fuckin' CRAFTY (Guy: "Dude, it'll take me less than 3 mins to steal your car", Me: "thanks, no") '58 should be easy to snag back though, they don't make hella of 'em anymore (but hopefully)
No pic's right now but it's Black and showroom stock. His HT is custom 2 tone gold with White tuck & roll and chrome wheels. They left that one...
I'd keep my ears open for someone or a shop in the area that all the sudden made great progress on a rebuild on a 58 ragtop or maybe hardtop. The car was either hauled out of the country as it sits to someone waiting with the cash. Was stolen for the parts (most likely) I'd say that there is someone in a hundred or so mile radius that all the sudden is making big progress on a black 58 ragtop or will soon have one for sale. Unless you knew where the patches in a door or fender or where there was some distinctive repair it would be hard to prove that the parts came off that car. A guy that just got a "great deal" on major body and interior work on his car after years of no progress? <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
He's waiting for the check from the insurance and looking for another car to buy... Pretty much resolved it's gone gone.
I almost think this is a case where the car is worth more than it's parts, those damned things have brought as much as 100K and it's stupid easy to change tags and so forth. I'd bet it went overseas or something.

I'll keep an eye out down this way but I have to agree with some others about the Seatrain container...I was just looking through some Craigslist ads yesterday and saw one from an Aussie looking for 1958 "ANYTHING" to be shipped out of Long Beach. Convertibles and wagons were at the top of this list.
having lived in tucson and san diego and knowing the geographic location for long beach, i would say both cars are LONG gone by now. both cars were most likely across the border before the owners knew their cars were gone. its a fuckin shame this kinda thing happens and i agree, thieves like this should be hung by their tiny little testicles and flogged repeatedly. if you have a car like this that you cherrish, it may be good insurance to get a lojack installed.
Who is going to be the first to remove the hands of one of these assholes when they're caught? Just one individual walking around with no hands and "I am a thief" tatttoed on his forhead would go a loooooog way to start a reverse trend of stealing. Just think of the impact if every town had such a graphic example. Frank
