Very Cool !!
I remember back in the early sixties going to the drags and watching Anglia and Fiat gassers duke it out. That left a huge picture stamped in my brain and to this day I love them more than any other dragsters. You're doing a great job on this one and hope you make it to the Nostagic drags down here someday. Good luck!
This is my Anglia in 1974, I was only 18 yrs old, still had hair then.
Got the headers tack welded together, going to have to put a heat shield and wrap the headers by the master cylinder.
Just coat headers no need for sheilds or wrap and they last alot longer
Oh ya car is very cool
looks great! nice work!
Damn, thats a badass machine!!!! Would look really good in my garage.Enjoy.
SWEET !!!!! Looks like a proper HANDFULL !!
Whoa Baby, does that ever look like fun. We need a picture of it off the line with the front wheels about a foot off the ground. I agree, the paint will be just fine with a good rubout.
Just sittin there, that thing is bad as Hell!!
Headers are done, just have to get them ceramic coated. Only weeks away from being on the road, and it only took 31yrs.
looking good rls
See Ya At the Track!!!!
I keep some diapers with me....for those "Anglia Moments"
I love Anglias, nice car and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with little "clutter" in the garage while I'm working on something, ha ha.
Headers ceramic coated and on, ready to fire it up tomorrow, if life dosen't get in the way.
Went for a test drive.
Kinda like driving a drifter car except you can't steer it....
Still having gen v big block chevy issues. (water in the oil)
Gen v experts please send help!!!!
That is the fight too isn't it. Life is pretty important, but after 31 years, I think you have been patient enough! Fire it up!! Looks great..
Wow! That looks great! I can see the rear fenders are widened quite a bit, but are the fronts also widened? I'm still curious about that front axle too! What's it using for spring(s)?????
Wish my paint looked half that good!
Well it wasn't life that got in the way this time, it was wife. Yes the front fenders have been widened, 3" per side and the back 4" per side. The front and back are tranverse leaf, still the same set up from 1964 when it was built for the track.
That thing is BAAAAADDD!!! I mean GOOOOOD!!!! I mean TITS!
I narrowed my front axle 6" from the narrowest Speedway sold (46") so the front fenders fit, but I'd like to add about 3" to the rear to cover the tires a bit more. There's a place here in town that once built 2" wider glass fenders for another guy's 1940 Austin (same body) and I thought about getting them, but I want to stay steel.
I'll probably just pull them off and cut a strip of steel and weld it on the edge to make them wider like your's.
PS-My Austin was originally imported to somewhere in Canada when new in 1946. When I tore it apart to build the gasser I found two minty Canadian pennies from 1946 that fell out of the front sheetmetal!
I have been driving the wheels off the Anglia all Summer, here is a short blast. Click on picture.
Holey crap watch where ya goin'.
Cool car, front's a tad high for it to be 100% for me.
Man,that grin says it all,,,congratulations! HRP
Did you get the headers ceramic coated or are they poweder coated?? In the pic it looks like they are white?? Is this right?? I ask as I can not find any place in this end of Canada that will coat mine white.....
