Well been plugging away...but with a bit of help...
I wonder if a few evenings in the garage neutralizes a pokemon t-shirt? He actually was a help and seemed to enjoy hanging out with his "Grumpy"

Looks good Louie! Tracy and I were just talking about your car today. Can't wait to see it at Super Sunday in a few weeks.

I know I should be out in the garage, but its a lazy Sunday...and it is roadster related. I drew up a concept for a show board for the roadster, and my son who runs a sign shop router showed up with the panels and acrylic for this...more pics to follow as I get more done. I had the concept that as the car is getting built the sign will look like this and when its done I will then "finish" the actual sign. So I did some lettering on the mill finish aluminum panel today.

OK....so been busting ass on the roadster the past few weeks in preparation of trailering it to Merced for the Merced Valve Burners Super Sunday at the Park. Its probably not going to look like much, and wont be running, but at least it will cease being a myth to the folks over there that know about the build. So here are a few shots of whats been going on in the garage....if ya smell something its only the midnight oil Im burning:rolleyes::rolleyes:

..finally scuffed and painted the headers I built

Well our first outing I think was a success. Everybody enjoyed seeing the car, and the Merced Valve Burners made us, the Cotton Chopper, and the Reinero 32 Roadster the centerpiece of the show. It was a great honor. Quite a few of the locals that grew up during the 50s recognized the car, and some even thought it was the original car. We received many compliments on the car. Richard Ruth was very impressed with my work and detail, and Joe Barnett thought it looked great! It was great hanging out with Joe and hearing all his stories, he is quite the character. Again I want to thank Tracy Ledford for all his help and for loaning me his extra set of Merc wheels and Wide Whites for the show. It really made the car. Here is a few more of the roadsters, and the rail.

And Joe Barnett's U.S. MALE Model A postal truck...its an amazing piece with tons of detail, it was great that he drove it down from the Mariposa area...

    Couple more......

How 'bout this tasty morsel....on the cowl of the Reinero Roadster...."Winfield's Custom Shop-Modesto" Winfield did the paint.

And a bit of trivia, Ray's younger brother Walt did the fabricating on the front end, and duplicated the spring perch from Ray's roadster, and the shock mounting is very very similar. The cars also share the same taillights. Oh, and the axle and brakes are Lincoln

It was cool to see that Merced area history all side by side. Good luck and it was nice talking to you briefly at the show.
