Wasn’t happy with the driver quarter.....so I massaged it a little more....NOW I’m happy with it! Just have the doors to do now and I’m off to the races!! Dropping the top probably 31/4”-31/2”.....I want to leave the windshield swing locks in the factory position......happy weekend fellas!! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Gettin’ close to final glaze!! Thanks for everyone hangin’ with me! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Started on the dash tonight....just alot of little things before I hit everything with final glaze... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Catching up. Dang, that hot rod coming along well. As usual enjoy your posts. Been away playing with new toy. My prized Healey got wacked/totaled by a kid running a stop sign. My long time lust for a "shine" car fulfilled by default. '39 deluxe, 350/350, just a plain jane really nice driver. Sent from my XT1710-02 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Love the coupe. The self serving bastard who hammered your Healy needs to be tarred, feathered and thrown under a bus. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
First time for tapping insurance with 77 clicks on the pavement. The underinsured line item/clause sure paid dividends. Healeys are complex, right front hit trapazoided to left rear. Be sure of your insurance. Sent from my XT1710-02 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Don’t know if I want to put this on the Tudor or the coupe....hmm Finishing up the firewall too.... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I’m experimenting with 2 different types of glaze....one is lacquer based and the other polyester. The lacquer based is way easier to sand and there’s no mixing hardener....I’ll probably use a combination of both. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
No mixing? Just a tube? called spot putty? I was told (and have experienced) that this stuff shrinks, meaning it is not suitable for quality repairs.
That would be the stuff called "Nitrostan".....that stuff is waterborne.... I used the lacquer based stuff on my truck when I built it in '04.....still looks great! We're filling 36grit scratches here.....not dents....
Holy moly.....sanding and more sanding! I still have to drop the top and do the deck lid too.... I just want to get this thing in fill primer so I can sand some more.... It’ll be worth it in the end..... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
PRIMER!!! Wooo Hooooo! Still have to drop the top, then I can finish up the rest of the bodywork....Gettin’ there! Thanks fellas!! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Dash work finished, rear panel done and a better shot of the driver side..... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
WOW!! Like magic! Now.....when I get there in the morning, will it be all finished? Looks great! Thank you for your generous efforts kind Sir!
Outter deck lid done, jambs done and wheel wells done! I can almost taste it!! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Got my woods installed.....the one I got for the rear was way too small, so I had to whip one up outta scraps from old skids.....it’s hardwood alright.... it kept knocking the blade off the bandsaw and was a bear to cut! I’ll tweak it up later after I chop the top....I just wanted to get them all installed.....FINALLY! Got my deck lid squared away too.... Thanks for stoppin’ by fellas! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Painted the inside of my deck lid tonight.....nothing spectacular but serviceable....time to chop! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Got my hinges installed! They’ll still have come off again, but that task is finished! Picked up some hinges from a Triumph TR model not sure if it was a 3 or a 7.....either way, they kick ass! Thanks fellas! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
TR3 or TR4. TR7 is the OT wedge shaped body with internal hinges. https://mossmotors.com/trunk-hinge-pair TR3
Yes....you are correct! Here they are.....I can't believe I only paid around 20 bucks for these. The subtle contour fit perfectly!
