    Catching up.
Dang, that hot rod coming along well.
    As usual enjoy your posts.
Been away playing with new toy. My prized Healey got wacked/totaled by a kid running a stop sign. My long time lust for a "shine" car fulfilled by default. '39 deluxe, 350/350, just a plain jane really nice driver.

  6. Love the coupe. The self serving bastard who hammered your Healy needs to be tarred, feathered and thrown under a bus.

First time for tapping insurance with 77 clicks on the pavement. The underinsured line item/clause sure paid dividends. Healeys are complex, right front hit trapazoided to left rear.
    Be sure of your insurance.

I’m experimenting with 2 different types of glaze....one is lacquer based and the other polyester. The lacquer based is way easier to sand and there’s no mixing hardener....I’ll probably use a combination of both. IMG_0961.JPG

    No mixing?
    Just a tube?
    called spot putty?
I was told (and have experienced) that this stuff shrinks, meaning it is not suitable for quality repairs.

That would be the stuff called "Nitrostan".....that stuff is waterborne.... I used the lacquer based stuff on my truck when I built it in '04.....still looks great! We're filling 36grit scratches here.....not dents....:D

Got my woods installed.....the one I got for the rear was way too small, so I had to whip one up outta scraps from old skids.....it’s hardwood alright.... it kept knocking the blade off the bandsaw and was a bear to cut! I’ll tweak it up later after I chop the top....I just wanted to get them all installed.....FINALLY! Got my deck lid squared away too....
Thanks for stoppin’ by fellas! IMG_1017.JPG IMG_1008.JPG IMG_1009.JPG

After all that effort on the gaps, don't forget to brace the body before cutting!

Got my hinges installed! They’ll still have come off again, but that task is finished! Picked up some hinges from a Triumph TR model not sure if it was a 3 or a 7.....either way, they kick ass! Thanks fellas! IMG_1022.JPG IMG_1028.JPG IMG_1027.JPG IMG_1029.JPG IMG_1024.JPG IMG_1032.JPG

Yes....you are correct! Here they are.....I can't believe I only paid around 20 bucks for these. The subtle contour fit perfectly! upload_2021-4-1_21-15-28.png
