 I am about to buy an original set of flathead spark plug wire looms for my 59A motor (it's a 39 or 40 block I believe) with a two bolt dizzy. The guy down in FLA says he has a bunch of different sets that are different lengths. So which do I tell him I want? And if it matters I am using a flat or "crab" style cap. Thanx for all the help as usual guys and gals

The 59A block should be 42-48. The 2 bolt "crab" dizzy is right for that year range. Up to 41 used the "divers helmet" style dizzy. Those are commonly three bolt mounting.

Crab dizzy has two cross over wires. So the looms will have one hole on the inside of the looms and 2 on the outside.

    Divers are wired 4 left/4right.

Not sure on difference of loom lengths.

Here's a couple engine picts I have with the different looms.

1: is a 59ab. Crab (you'll see the 2 wires crosses over the intake)

    2: is a 38 221 Helmet.

Get the ones with the shortest front ends. That way you'll have more room to maneuvre the wires to the correct side before you jam them up your tubes.

It's not the firing order it's the wiring that is different. 3 and 5 cylinders are the ones that make the loom different. The firing order is the same. Lol

    Ah... You have scotch?:D

You could probably run the other looms with extra wire, but if you have a choice get the one you need. Other Might be tough on the dizzy side as mentioned.

Are you a friend of my friend Scotch? We are close and have known each other since I cheated on Bourbon with Scotch.

I'm a simple beer guy and okay with a grain shot. Been known to take a tumbler when offered.

And the closer I am to the beach a rum runner calls out.
