Has anybody seen these rims on a traditionally-styled car? Does it "work" visually? I know they're relatively new, and I haven't seen any on the street. American doesn't even have any pics on their website. I like Halibrands, but can't afford real ones. I've been thinking these are the next best thing, maybe with the gray center powdercoated gloss black.

Anybody got pics of these looking right or not-right on a car?

Really depends on the car. I think they look right on my '57 Buick, but that's me... :D

  3. I've seen 'em on a couple of cars, they look alright on the right car with a good tire combo. I saw a set on a 33 Roadster (highboy) last year with raduals and they looked really ot of place, but there was an A roadster channeled and running bias plys bigs n littles that looked pretty good.

What they don't look like are Halibrands so you have to keep that in mind. I got a set I'm planning on running on the Roadster but I may change my mind after I get it rolling.

I think the key is setting it up right and the right tires.

They do look good on the Buick, I think they are as smooth as it comes on a fender car.

I run the polished ones on my 32 hyboy roadster here in Aus there is very fue on cars here I think thay look grate thay just need a spinner witch you can,t get so I was tolled

  6. I'm running them on the rear of my street-legal supermod/sprint car because they so closely resemble one style of vintage Halibrand. I made my own adaptors to mount Halibrand-style knockoffs.

  7. The work for me.

I run those in 17" on my daily driver Caprice wagon. The coolest wheels I've ever owned. But, ya gotta spring for some custom centers. I run the 3 bar spinners with holes drilled in 'em.

Thanks for the pics, guys. These would be going on a '39 Chevy truck, which isn't the raciest looking vehicle, but I like them. I'm not trying to fool anybody into thinking I have Halibrands on it- I just see alot of trucks done with steelies and caps, and thought I might try something different like this. Of course, I change my mind every week, so I may be asking about steelies and caps next week.

Roadstar- nice ride. The windshield, paint, all of it- nice.

I was pretty sure that I preferred the painted center wheels until a friend of mine got some polished ones on his '56 Ford pickup. Now not so sure.....

At any rate, they are handsome wheels, and I think they fit on most any traditionally styled hot rod.

I am probably going to take some of the polish off of the rims to give them a more machined finish. I am going for a more industrial race car look.

I have a set on my 42 pickup now wrapped in Bias black-wall firestones and they look killer. I stuck them on my A-roadster and they looked really good on there too.

I've you've got a pic of them on your truck, I'd love to see it- I searched through some of your old threads and didn't come across any.

I know there was a '58/59 Chevy truck running them on the thread about 58-59 chevy's. Not sure if that was lost in the great crash of '05 or not. Right around that time though.

My old man just ordered the polished ones in 17's for his '65 Rivi. They said 4 weeks on the delivery. I'll post pics when they are on. They remind me a bit of the stock GS rims, so they should look good. For him it was a toss up between the polished and unpolished. I like both, but I'm new school and prefer the polished.

I've got a set of 16's on my 55 Bird which has been in the family since new, Last June we bought a sister to her, A wrecked 2K2 version, put her all back together for $4k on top of the $9250.00 purchase price, took her to PS Speciality to have some Kidney beans made for her,Still waiting to get them on, But I saw what they'd look like on the new one, I feel that they are just timeless!!!

I like those in your pic but if you like Halibrands, these (from rimspecialist on ebay) are good and cheap:

  23. I have bought several sets from that guy(ordered for pals that arent on Ebay), nice wheels, look more like Real wheels or ET Fuelers than Halibrands. The finish is NOWHERE near what the Americans are but for $400 some guys will overlook that. THats $400 a set (4). THey are Chinese, I fear they will rule us.

  24. My roadster with Mrs. HRP at the wheel,,,polished salt flats,,,,

  25. Here is a shot of them on Cragar's 32. Real nice rim

Hey Steve, Those look real good with the knock offs added. I'm gonna have to get out there and and see the new roadster. The pics look real good! When ya gonna have it on the road, or have you and I just missed it?

  30. Hey Inda, look at the last post on these wheels. Circa 3 weeks ago. Rader, M/T and Fenton all imported wheels back in the "glory years". Also, these wheels are prob pretty solid if you read that post with firsthand manufacturing experience.
