Well, today I just retired from 46 years in the food packaging industry
At 70.5 I’ve really slowed down but hoping I can get a couple of more done before my Dirt Nap!

Wonder if we can sign up AARP to become an Alliance vendor for a discount?!

Used to be AAR 'Cuda, now AARP "Cuda

  3. I went over my finances today with the people who babysit my 401k... I just may have a spending issue since I'm doing pretty well with retirement. Building a new stock car is out though.

I seem to remember a saying, "Nothing verifies reaction time better than dodging an iron skillet flung at ones head...".

Some things just take time. Scratch built a small wooden biplane once. when folks asked "when will it be done", I'd just say Tuesday. It will happen when it happens.

I asked as an inside joke. A long time member here and friend I see often has, in my eyes anyways, totally done what seems be an about face. He's happy as all can be with his new hobby.

Squirrel, if you lost the motivation, selling is probably the right move. I think the Almost Funny is a great car for a new owner who will spend some time on the dyno and the track to get it scienced out. All the right stuff is there to make it work. I think that car can dip into the 8's with some sorting.
A Drag Week legal, 8.50 legal, street/strip, blown Hemi gasser/AFX with 8 second potential for that price is a wonderful opportunity for someone.
Now, I need to get busy this year and get my own car scienced out. It is a process that takes time and dedication. Automotive ADD can thwart that process.

Lets just hope it doesn't get lost like Glovers 57 has.

I know how you feel, I'm approaching 76 this coming July and I'm losing motivation these days myself! I think the last two years has a lot to do with it! With all that's going on with the virus and direction of things in our world it is depressing. Hope things look better this summer for us all to get out there and enjoy our hobby!

Me too! I'd love to get my hands on that Hemi. But I don't need another car.

Yeah, that's too bad, I was looking forward to seeing this next generation drag week car running better and better as the bugs got worked out and the tune up came around. Oh well. I understand the feeling of having several projects and the motivation for each kinda ebbs and flows, sometimes to the point of letting some go.
