I see a Billy Mayes'ish infomercial,..."only $29.99 and you too can build a fantastic plastic fiberglass flyer!"

That is a sweet project Fritz, if it's anything like the other cars you've built it's definitly gonna be a show stopper..

What are your plans for the little V-Dub mill? please tell me lots of chrome, and a big turbo?!? or two... (they'd go with the space ship vibe it's goin, they'd make the wicked turbine whistle...

  12. I can already see it doing the C2C12. A couple of Mountain Dews on ice and a fist full Snickers, watching the U.S. pass by thru your bubble. I call "shotgun"! ;)

Dude, I need to come down and see this thing "in progress". I have been sketching ideas for my own show rod for a few years now. I need to de-mystify the whole process so that I get up off my butt and DO it.

I have frame pieces I have running gear.....I only lack a bubble and a bunch of news papers....

....and it looks like maybe a big ole tarp. :)

I watched a show lately about making bubble gum machines. They were making HUGE poly bubbles, might be worth looking in to.

  15. Fritz, the car is looking great and so quickly. I hope you're planning a run to The Detroit Autorama with it this winter???? I'd really like some up close and personal photos of it......

Dude, that's the shame of it all, I already KNOW how to make the bubble....I just haven't done it yet......

Here is one of many discussions I have viewed on this topic.
I have talked to Fritz and Mark and whoever else I can about this before.
Usually it's the money to buy the bubble that stops me and it happens to be the first hurdle I need to cross before mixing a single spit wad.

I keep thinking that molding the body is the big tough part. I picture all this bracing and structure that might be needed to keep the boddy from wagging around in the wind and I make it worse than it might actually be.

    Broman,
making the body isn't so bad. In the DVD i am making on how to make a fiberglass body at home I'll show every step including making steel braces and how to glass them to the body so it stays sturdy.
if you ever need any help just shoot me a PM, I'll do the best I can

It may be a little bit for the fiberglass body DVD. My wife has breast cancer and is in for some major surgery in the next 2 weeks. that is going to set us back a bit but I hop by the end of Aug it will be done. I will have a "paint your motorcycle" DVD done first. everything from making paint stand to gold leaf work striping and candy work. start to finish. check in on my new web site & online store often as we are still working on them also.
    Thannks for your interest

    Cory,
I had a lot of tire kickers and guy's trying to take advantage of my situation so I pulled it from ebay. I am just trying to do the right thing for the person who has stood behind me for so many years. She actually told me to just keep the car and save it for when things get better. See thats why I was so quick to sell it. Shes the best!

I'd be happy to prepay for the glass dvd to help generate funds and I'm sure others would as well.
