as of today June/6/10 an update
lots of plaster work done so far, I'm getting about 6 hours a day in on this thing! it looks easy but is a bunch of work mixing and splattering this stuff into shape. so far so good I think!
Very cool ....
Fritz musta got a blood transfusion from Big daddy Roth when he was younger!!!!!!!!!
That is COOL .. Did you start with a Wood Base first before the Plaster? And the Bubble top... How was that done? Very Cool...
That VW motor better be a thumper!
I love the way it has the dragster influenced nose... Keep us posted!
I bought a bunch of bubbles from a place that went out of business before I moved out of New York, so I still have a few left. No wood bucks or foam boards here. I started with stacking milk crates then planks of wood on the frame. Then plaster spit wads to build a basic "buck"
I am making a DVD on how its all done start to finish if you are interested.
it should be available soon!
My wife thinks I'm crazy enough already. I could just imagine what she'd think if she saw me out in the garage doing something like this. AWESOME!!
Can't wait it's going to be killer, should build this next!!!
Way cool, when will the DVD be available?
I think "Plowboy" built that, didn't he, LOL
DVD's will be ready just as soon as I get done tapping and having then edited.
I'd love to see this in person, are you keeping it hidden until it is done?
I'm here all the time mostly, Ya know where Belton is?
Flatten that neck a bit and put a fret board and some strings on it!
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT...Its Gonna Be A Cool Ass Car!
That's one of the better bubbletop creations I've seen....
Jimmy Smith rules.......
I think everything looks great and i had the privilege of seeing your other car at a Rumblers show in Brooklyn. I just have one question about the front end setup. What keeps the the body from rolling when you turn? There is only one coil spring in the center or is it not done yet? Just wondering.
I have a shock under there someplace
I don't think its gonna get driven much to worry about any of that. A lot of 60's show cars were sporting only one coil spring up front.
We do have a name The "Baja Bandito"
Fritz... you da man!!!
Will you make it to the show in August (Brooklyn)?
Not gonna make it to NYC this summer.
Cool Name , For a Cool car.... You are using the same color sceme as on the Art work?
I don't know. I usually just worry about getting into primer then I try to figure a color out. If i have a lot of one color on the shelf i'll use that. Right now there is to much other work to do to worry about color.
But I do like gold
Put me down for a copy please...
Are there any books that come close to describing the process
your going thru to build the bodies?
I also loved seeing your car at TorqueFest.
