Technical Airtex Fuel Pump Identification

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Oldmics, Jul 26, 2020.

  1. I had read somewhere that there is a way to distinguish the most recent Chinese Airtex mechanical fuel pump from the previous versions.

It has to do with the head configuration of the screw that holds the pump together.I think its either a phillips or an acorn style that allows you to tell the difference.

Can the power of the H.A.M.B. help me with an answer?

    Thanks in advance

  2. got me.....what's the number of the pump or the application your searching for.........?

  3. I figured it out.

Originals (or the good ones) have a 3/8 head bolt holding the halves together and the junk ones are held together with an oddball acorn/phillips screw
