I know there are a couple of options for those of us that need to run smaller air filters due to space restrictions. I was looking for something a bit better than the readily available el cheapo paper filters which I have already. My feeling is that they do restrict air flow. My local parts guy is great and knows his stuff. We came up with a wix filter that had dimensions that we could work with. Wix part number 42158 Looks ok ,will breath better r Machine off the lip on the chrome base so that the base of the filter has a flat surface to seat on and replace existing speed nut with nutsert , no chance of that dropping into manifold. Cut up the old chrome pot. Get some all thread and cut to length,then just put together. I did have to trim the top rubber on the filter to get it to fit in nicely. This is what I replaced with nutsert
That just looks better. I ran the others on my 49 ford f1 and like you I was sure they were restricted Sent from my SM-A102U using Tapatalk
