advice needed on safety switch for my C-10

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by slackcat, Jul 2, 2011.

  1. I'm wanting to put a neutral/clutch safety switch on my '62 C-10 p/u. It's sporting a 235 and 3spd column shift. What should I use??

    thanks

  2. You can use a brake light pedal switch hooked to a relay inline with the starter wire. The brake switch normally closes when you step on the pedal. If you mount it so the clutch pedal hits it when the pedal is on the floor, it will open and disconnect the wire from the key to the starter.

  4. Haha...should proof-read my own posts better. Obviously you'd want to mount it so the clutch pedal hit the switch and broke the connection at the TOP, not on the floor! Just like it's used on the brake pedal...
