Now for me the best shot.Great dash rail, post and stanchions. No cracks in the cowl. Some one had cut the lower section of the cowl for a trans. Now needs to be welded back in. 20180802_135349_resized_2.jpg

Sorry about your wife's fall Jim, both of yall already had enough trouble as it was, dang.
But the car is shaping up, and I like that radiator rock guard. If push comes to shove on those sub rails, you may have to save your change for awhile and spring for some from Brookville. The sub rails are always hard to find as they are way down at the bottom and prolly the first piece rust attacks when somebody sets a junk body out on the ground.

Thanks all. This is my latest acquisition . I can hunt on the net but not much getting done.
Dave that's what I'm thinking for the s/r . The guy I bought the stuff from threw the protector in. Really great cowl and a perfect dash rail. That was a complete stumble on.
As to wellness , I'm feeling better ,should be all up in about a week. Thanks for the concern.

    Jim,
Car is looking good. Chris finished machining a prototype fan shaft and we are going to try and fit something up and see how things look.

Sorry to hear about your wife’s fall and you being sick but your sticking to it and not shows.

I’ll be in touch when we get this fan idea worked out, you get the first one.

Wow ,Thanks Cliff, now I can see how people get things done . A few close friends and you can move a mt.

Next week I am taking some parts to a friends bead blaster and getting ready to prime parts.

Just read about ospho, a rust converter. My Cowl and several parts have been soda blaste . I don't want them to start rusting in this Georgia air. I'm going to spray them with ospho ,wash, and let dry then paint with rustoleum. When ever I get ready to paint I will just sand and seal coat.

Have you been to TROG? I would like to do that.

What you are doing is something I'm sure others could use.

    Thanks ,
    jim

    Jim,
I could have used one back when the car was first built but limited information and lack of the database we enjoy these days makes you build stuff with what you have.

    We’ll see how this works.

    Thanks Bill,
It sure helps when friends want to help you. I'm not any better after 5 shots and 3 visits to the dr. Monday I am going to try and find a lung specialist. This has gone too far.
If able I have a bunch of small parts to bead blast next week.
Thanks for the offer to plunder thru your stash.

Any time you are around a blaster, use a cover over your nose and mouth. I did some Buick drums this week and was blowing my nose all afternoon. The box looked good, but just handling the stuff was bad. That would not help your health being sick already.

Hi all, being sick blows. I'm getting back to work and started by wire brushing my gas tank today. It had been soda blasted and needed going over. Tomorrow I hope to ospho it and Monday paint.
My situation with me being wifes care giver has worsened. I am the sole person now, and don't get much time in the shop.
What used to take a day is going to be a week. Just keep keeping on. Sure get to read a lot on the HAMB.

Yep, but it will be worth it in the end. It helps keep your sanity. I wish I could help. I was in your shoes last year.

    Jim,
Wish I was closer than a 1000 miles. I understand about being the sole provider. My wife and I help with my inlaws and no help from others.

Keep strong and PM me a list of things you think you need. I’m cleaning up around the garage and if it’s going and you need it for your build, Bam, it’s yours.

Take care and best to you and your wife.

Thanks for the support . I really need it. I'm a real positive person, but some things just kill me. This project is one of the things that keeps my head up. The Lord Jesus and the project.
P.S. I'm feeling really good, ospho tomorrow ,and paint on Monday.

Well, I always enjoy seeing your roadster, but if circumstances prohibit having the roadster and you, would much prefer you to the roadster:)

    Hi Cliff,
I don't know exactly. I was reading on here and one guy chopped his where it was 7'' inside the frame at the end .When my welder marked it I said lets make that 8'' I think it looks just about right.
Have a Dr apt tomorrow, might make it to the glass shop . :)

What I've been up to. I painted the underside ivory so I could see what is going on under the dash. Can't wait to get it and the w/s mounted.
