A question for Y-block experts, I know you're out there

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Stllrng., Dec 26, 2010.

  1. I have a cam from a 292, and I would like to figure out what it is from but can't make sense of the part number: ECZ A 2023

Can anyone help? I would like to know what it came out of originally. thank you:confused:

I couldn't find anything on cams but all Y block parts with the ECZ prefix came out in 56, and ended in 58. The parts were mostly on Mercury 312 equiped models but some T birds also. A very few 292 engines had some ECZ prefix parts also.

If you said you had ECZ-A# on the block I would say you had a 56 292 or 312. I dont know about the #'s on camshafts but they might cover the same years. Maybe Tim here will see it and give you a better answer. You could always go over to yblocksforever.com and ask your question.

  5. thanks for the responses guys, the engine is a little bit of a mystery to me as it has the ECZ camshaft, it has a C2A block, and 113 Heads. I took the engine out of a 1963 Merc pickup but it is obvious that it is a bit of a Frankenstien engine with parts from different years. Thanks for the input1:)
