I don't think I want to live in a hot rod world without burnouts.

Don't get me wrong, be safe about it, but sometimes tires are just begging to be put out of their misery.

Maybe it's just me. I could be wrong. I'm not... but I could be.

Burnouts are bitchin! Doing them in the middle of a crowd or at an event where you don't have permsission or are not paying the insurance bill is not.

    Right time and right place.

    On the street...YES
    At the strip...YES
Private property (not yours, no permission)...NO

Believe me, if I lost my house because some asshole killed someone at my event, I'd be going to prison for a long time.

Years ago West Coast Kustom's Paso run came real close to being shut down because of folks doing burnouts!

Can't see why not, we'll all be there anyway. Got a lot of pickups in the club, so should be no problem.

What do you mean cut down traffic? I thought you were a man of influence? :D

Well, I sure am glad I read everyone's opinion about burnouts before installing my 355 SBC bored/stroked/milled with a 3 deuce set up on my highboy. The great news is that my mother in law just totaled her 72' Ford Pinto and she told me I could use her 2000CC 4 cylinder motor. No burn outs but I should get 50 miles to the gallon.

That should be the rules for this place......

  8. LOL

Although 'outta' may not be the Queen's English, it's not misspelt. :)

Your and you're, two totally different words.

Signwriters really should be able to spell.

my chev is going to be fenderless so I guess to be properly traditional I must use a drop axle. We will see when the time comes for that build.

  11. I've always wondered why some people can't conform? These are the rules for BilletProof...If you don't like them..DON'T go.
I love traditionally styled cars and agree with the rules. These rules were probably put in place so that like minded people could go to a show and not be saturated with non-traditional items. What's wrong with that?
As for burnouts...there is a time and a place for them but if BilletProof says "NO" then quit your bitchin' and enjoy the show.

BTW...my Plymouth won't do a burnout in wet grass..oh well!

    Goddamn that funny.....Made my day.

The sign is sweet too... LOL

  15. Hahahaha... I was wondering when someone was going to get around to Photoshopping it. I was tempted, just been too busy.

I know I'm a bit of a spelling Nazi, but if you're going to make a living from it, you really should spell stuff right.

The guy that did this masterpiece really needs to go back to skewl...

I'd hate to go to the smoke shop and grocerised!!!

  16. Void where prohibited by good taste:
Lettering must have been done right after 'inventory control' at the smoke shop.

If you like this kind of thing, go get the book: "Eats, Shoots and Leaves". I'd tell you the author, but I've got a huge fucking cold and don't want to wobble out to the car right now. Funny book about punctuation.

  17. LOL... Yeah, I've seen similar books, but probably wouldn't spend the money to buy one.

I remember seeing a t-shirt years ago that had something about a Wombat (a tubby Aussie marsupial).

It went along similar lines: "The Wombat. Eats, roots, shoots and leaves."

Kinda takes it to the next level.

Extra info for Seppos: Root in Aussie = fuck, shag, screw, bonk etc... :)

    Doesn't translate though.

    Exactly.

I just pretty much try to ignore people who are that ignorant and cannot think beyond just making a statement. We're all better off when they choose not to go.

  19. Wasn't there some unsanctioned dirt-tracking at BP one year that 'caused issues with the people in charge of the venue? Whether my memory of the rumor is correct or not, I'm sure it's tough being a hot rodder who's running a big event.

    That's bitchin!

I had thought about a criteria sign similar to that for the Pileup at one point but the signs we make are much easier to deal with 50 miles from home. Hell, it's all I can do to get 2 guitars and 2 suitcases into my coupe! haahaha!

Yep, that's what got us kicked out of Livermore...by the city council.

Ah-- the classic Billet Proof days!

    We had:
    -Overflowing cars in Albany
-Steve Sellers car engulfed in fire at Oakland
    -Burnouts at Hayward
    -Dirt trackin' dirtbags in Livermore

Running a show will make you go bald with stress!!!!
