A moment out of hibernation for the old rod.
Got it out to take some pics. ( thought had crossed my mind to sale it , but changed my mind!!).
It's to much fun cruising around in.
So now I'm think of some little changes.
Got some nice black low back bucket seats for the front. Would like to have a snap in upholstered for the back seat.
And put a original style top on. Then try to get some glass put in.
    Thinking along the comfort line.
    To much time to think!!!

    Feel free to add your
    out off Hibernation pics.

    Back to raining!!

I was about to ask how comfortable the seats were, your plans answered my question;)

The boomer seats are not to bad, but I did take a yoga mat and cut to sorta fit for alittle padding.
I took one of the seats out test fit the lowback bucket and with a 3" tall base looks like it will fit nice.
Will see gotta get some metal and do alittle fab work.

Not real sure who makes the wheel the previous owner put them on.

Got the A out yesterday for test drive.
Changed cracked manifold, cleaned carb, other maintenance stuff. Good news, no leaks!
Car was stored for 35 years. I've learned a ton so far. Banger fan for now..

What a cool little car! If I were you I would make the changes you mentioned, especially the top and windows. I’d paint the firewall to match the wheels and lose the billet plug wire looms just routing the wires under the headers. Maybe get black wires?
I always try to change a few things on my cars each season just to keep myself interested and engaged.

I could go on & on about this car. Very solid. Seeing how they are built, simple but effective.
I can WRENCH on this car with simple tools, no metric junk and no laptop needed!
I'm now convinced Henry Ford was a genius.
Raining like crazy today, no driving. Pinholes in my top!

    Some good ideas!!
Keeping my interest through the winter down time is the hardest, but being on the hamb has helped alot.
seeing all the other rods for sale is a distraction.
    Thanks for the comments.

You have a very nice example.
Henry ford was on to something. Now days being being able to work on most or all aspects of your own car is a plus.
Good pics. Of your car also!

  12. I'm loading up my sawzall, mig, and some glass, tell me how to get there! ;):D

The door glass is what bothers me, some one before me cut alot of the inner panel out. That's why I made the wood door panel. They left 2 to 3 inches around the edge and installed a bear claw latch, when installing the latch they removed about a 4" piece of window guide track, and part of the latch is now in the way for a window to roll down.
I'm sure with a little thought and fab work this could be over come. But installing windows is new to me.
At the moment I have two 26 model t's and both need glass. My coupe has full doors at least and will be much easier, hopefully.

  15. Well brother if i was closer i would sure be there to help! I've had a few early products from Henry Ford that had issues with missing regulators and the such. Always fun to deal with  my last model a was missing the tops of the doors, part of a botched chop. I quickly learned that a 57 Chevy door top was basically a perfect fit. Guess that's what makes this stuff fun? o_O 20181023_110741.jpg

Much appreciated, it is the thought that counts.
I just need to tackle one thing at a time and get it done.
Wanted a top and glass for years, now its time.
I think the seats and top will go pretty smooth. The windows not sure. all new to me.

    Yes it does.
Had some thoughts of chopping when I first got it, but the wife and kids like it tall.
So i left it. My 26 coupe is tall also. Thanks for the compliment.

Chopped is cool, but, when you made such a good looking T by leaving it.........it's just cooler!
No wonder your family likes it too; that's improtant.

Got any pics. Of that shoebox out and about?

  25. I'm starting to really like the tall T's. I pushed my bucket outside this weekend, just to look at it in the sun. Pushed it right back in for the rain. Someday...
