I would like to see more pics of this one. Will it have a rumble seat?

  6. im going to try to post more pics soon. I have a bunch on fabing the wheel wells, lower qtrs. and cowl and rear qtr extensions. It still has a bunch of metal finishing to go. It will have a rumble seat and bumpers but we need a front one. The motor is a 354 with a 904 trans. The original seat and column are being used as well. Hopefully the floor will be completed this week. The rear spare tire holes and side mount spare fender recess are next to be filled. I refuse to fill the roof insert! It will use the hood top only for now but I have some ideas on shaping the louvers on the side panels into a "bubble" to clear the valve covers.

Wow, great work! What type of front and rear suspension are you going to run?

  10. the owner has done all the chassis work. It has a fatman m2 and ford rear. He almost used the stock axle but talked himself out of it. don't worry that wavy tube axle has found a good home, mine

  12. cool build. we have been looking for a better left front fender, no luck so far. Seems like these cars have hard to find parts unlike fords of the same era.

  13. got some floor work done, just have to fit the brake pedal and finish welding

Ugh. I remember all that rust in all the same places. Mine still has some of that rust. Beautiful work on this one though! I like the floor and wheel well work. I'm inspired. I don't know how these cars got so passed over by the aftermarket. Rust repair is a challenge as so few parts are available. Show more!

  23. thanks, there are rear bodys and most of the lower patch panels available, but I like making my own

they are not very hard to make
the wheelhouses were made the old school way, tuck shrinking and a hammer and acetylene bottle cap that is welded to my bench. they are 1 3/4 inches wider than stock and have the same shape and contours of the originals
the lower qtr piece was hammer and dolly only with a little shrinking
the floor was the simplest, just some good patterns and my modified harbor freight bead roller
the time consuming part was fitting them together, all the exterior sheet metal is file fit and but welded

I'm aware of the patch panels available as I have purchased some of them. But I would like to make my own quarter pieces. Hard to beat that bead roller for the price, isn't it?
Maybe you could do the hood sides like this one instead of hood blisters (courtesy Henry Ford Museum): henry ford roadster.jpg

  25. the current plan is for hood tops only
I am trying to talk the owner in to letting me reshape the louvers into "blisters" to clear the valve covers

and the HF beadroller works good when you build a stiffer frame for it
