Dude are you serious? You just made one incredibly sweet 4 door. I'm not a fan of shaved handles only on back doors, but for this phantom coupe I wouldn't knock it. How much did you take out from back doors to the front and are you running a door post still? Oh and please tell me you're painting this in a black or ultra dark color. You'd have even more people fooled that it's a sedan.
Thanks man! Took 3" out of the back, and I'm leaving the pillar out. (Beefed up the frame around the roof and the rockers a bit). It's gonna be a root beer'ish metal flake, same as the dash. And Mabey a black roof or something a different shade
Great job ! Did you rework the original frame & suspension to get the drop, or did you use a donor frame that included the steering wheel/tilt column ? And, yes, the chop is as good as it gets !! Jonnie www.legends.thewwbc.net
So much margin for error and you frickin nailed it! Very nice work Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That's nice. Incredible skill there and a real work of art. But, that steering wheel's got to go man ...............
Great work. Looks like you're coming along nicely. As for the top I would suggest something in a deep red with a lace pattern. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The B pillar lock support needs to be like a 57 58 Eldorado Broughams. I wonder why more people don't dig these 4 doors with the suicide doors? You may have changed that. A mate has one and yours might be good inspiration after a few beers.
well crap! been thinking about doing something like this on my more door merc for years what I get for having too many projects looks cool, keep posting pics
Kept the doors here too, open them up and you got the "Love Villiage" HAHAHa!!! © Rik Hoving Kustoms Get Original Uploaded Photo
That has the best lines of any 4 door merc i have ever seen, and its not even in primer yet! The chop is spot on! The doors are crazy! you took what most would look at as a hindrance and used it to your advantage to make and sick custom! Please post more pics of how you did the doors, how they latch, roof frame and floor reinforcement. Really killer ride!
Looks really good . Excellent work. Maybe you covered this, but are the rear door windows fixed in place and do not roll down? I would love to see some chrome side trim on it. Mick
Somebody's gonna conk their head on that B pillar, I'll bet. You've done a really good job on laying the back window down. That makes, or breaks, a chop. It doesn't make me a 4 door fan, but I like this car, a whole bunch.
Exceptionally nice work, beautiful proportions. This seems like one of those ideas that people would talk about but never actually complete, and you followed through with great results. Thanks for the update.
