Yes, it is: Fiat engine in a Valiant.
The debut of the Hurst Bolt-On kit. That's George Hurst on the right.
    OK, I lied. It's a Corvette 283.:D

I saw a kit for this on eBay once, shoulda bought it.About to get a 60 Valiant Wagon, and a 327 in that would be sweet. Blasphemy, I know but after 1962 a Valiant owner didnt need anything but 64 Dart or Valiant V8 motor mounts to put a 273-360 in the small enginne hole. I'd sneak that Corvette 327 a friend of mine pulled out of his Studebaker into the val wagon cos Hurst made a kit. And for me, that's a step.

Blasphemy? Engine swaps are the foundation of Hot Rodding.
I get the feeling that Mopar people take it more personal than other folks though...especially if they are only supplying the BODY! :D :D

I have that issue. It's a pretty involved swap. Most interesting was that they had to put a pipe sleeve through the oil pan for the tie rod. Of course it melted the skinny 13" tires they had on it.

    I've got scans of an article describing how they put a 413 in the original Golden Lancer, also a toad. 62 Golden Lancer 1.jpg G Lancer_01.jpg GLancer_02.jpg GLancer_03.jpg GLancer_04.jpg Glancer_05.jpg GLancer_06.jpg Lancer 2 eng.jpg Lancer 3 eng.jpg Lancer 4.jpg Lancer 5.jpg Time sheet- Lancer.jpg

Those are all uploaded full size, but I can't click to open them larger for some reason.

  10. I put a 273 in my '62 Valiant in '67, '68 while stationed at Andrews AFB. Swapped the v-8 mounts side for side, got a larger radiator, had the push button torqueflite with the v8, put 15's on the back. Article was in Hot Rod mag around that time. Not many issues other than the gas pedal cable had a kink and needed to be re routed.

I hope they also put the slant six into the Corvette to keep the equilibrium.

Yeah, I got a friend who thinks John Force's Mustang had a ford based injun in it. Hear he's gonna be in a Camaro soon. And a hyperpak 225 in the Corvette may have been pretty neat.
