And maybe a last drive before the snow flies. My better half decided that she would like a picture of the truck with some packages in it for a Christmas card. Okay...good excuse to get it out of the shop, despite temps in the 30's. This didn't make the cut, but liked it anyway: Dumped the silly packages in the bed and found this backdrop on a siding near my shop: Couple more:
1962 Rochester unit. Originally from a Corvette, but somebody polished it. That is the only reason why I could afford to put it on a Model A.
Nice ride (but I'm biased!). Nice idea with the presents in the back. Perhaps someone should start a 2010 Christmas card photo thread? Later, Gary
very cool hot rod! Reminds me of the very first hot rod I saw that got me started in this whole thing many years ago!
wow the last fuel injection kit i seen like that the guy wanted 15000 yes 15 grand for it ..love it ..good luck
That is one good looking truck!!! <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
Very nicely proportioned truck! The fuel injection might make a Vette purist cringe......good for you!
I'm particularly happy that it runs as well as it does. Pretty risky for a guy that specializes on Rochester one barrel carburetors. Fortunately had a squirter expert on hand to look over my shoulder when I built this. Not for the faint of heart. But definitely worth it in exchange for all the puzzled looks... Thanks for the compliments! I learned a lot of right things from you guys to make my first build turn out as well as it has.
That's what I thought! It's first show was at an event loaded with restored Corvettes and their well heeled owners. Turns out they really liked it. Surprised the hell out of me.
Looks like we have a winner. My wife has decided to use this for the Christmas card: Now we need a catchy title. Wife: What's under your tree? Me: Christmas rush. Rapid delivery. ...Still thinking. If it was a tail dragger: Santa's sled. Anyone else??
Will Santa be bringing credit towards a paint job with some color in it for Christmas? Or is it done? Gary
Definitely not done. It is in need of a body panel between the cab and bed to cover the frame, paint, bed wood, and interior. If I am lucky, Santa will supply some materials for the paint booth I am going to construct. Then the paint if I can decide on color. I was leaning toward a medium blue metalflake. This is based on a Model T truck I saw in a book from the 1963 Oakland Roadster Show. My buddies seem to be sold on gold metalflake. I have a metalflake paint chip sitting here in my office staring at me:
I am partial to flatheads but that fuel injection unit makes that a really cool set-up. You went outside the box and hit it out of the park with the fuelie unit settin on top, good job man!
Nice looking ride, I would like it better if it had about a 4" section on the grille shell, but what do I know...........
