I really dig everything about this car. When I first saw it, I was afraid it was a chop gone wrong, but everything else looked so cool. Now with the Carson top in progress, its going to be really bitchin! Great work! Though I was bummed about your color choice...mostly 'cause I wanted to paint my car that color :) Can't have two of them running around these parts now can we.
Looking forward to seeing it soon!

Looking good Scott! Wanted to show you what I figured up with mine. Found some fold down latches that worked out perfect. Do mind the welds I know they suck. Still trying to figure out how to make a flux wire weld look good.

Been a long time since I updated...I've been working on at Carson inspired removable top for some time now and have gone through a few revisions based on the input and feedback both positive & some negative (which I heard the loudest) at a few shows and from various friends as well this past fall. The basic profile is in place & a bit of adjusting still needs to be sorted out....add to the frame will be no more that another 3/4 in of padding and material.

side profile looks great. What color is the top going to be and is the copperish color the final color? I love it.

Hotup, did that start off as a hardtop or a sedan? The profile of your roof looks great.

Thanks, I am thinking of cutting the roof of my hardtop due to large amounts of rust in the roof edges (about 70% of the edge is rusted) and build a top (until I can find a donor convertible). I think I would keep the rear qtr windows but your top is looking great. what size diamter rods did you use to form the top

Also, what did you do to re-inforce the frame (to prevent frame sagging through the doors)

15" rims....no frame reinforcing. Hardtop is said to be the same as a convertible....1/4" rod but I would do some different in a few places is I was to do another one
