Hey friends, the coupe is now for sale. I’ve only driven it less than 4000 miles. Someone else should enjoy it. Drove it today, and it was a blast.

Change of plan. I won’t be selling the coupe any time soon. My son will be driving it. I don’t need the money. I need a happy family.

I made it to the doctor today, after falling and tearing up my knee last week. I have been snowed in. I put down rugs, so I could crutch on the snow. The ruptured patella tendon has to be fixed right away, or my leg can’t work again. Surgery next Monday morning. It’s already been about a week and a half, so it won’t be easy to fix.

Physical Therapy is the key to recovery. DON’T skip it or put it off. Frank

Wow I tore my right knee AC ligament and had a left knee total replacement. Now at 76 I am doing great only working inside. It's a bit of recovery so do the exercises and physical therapy. Stay Safe.

I’m home resting after hospital today. Doctor said it was major surgery. The main tendon is fixed, but it’s got to heal right, or it will tear again and be ruined.

Regrettably, I must admit, my dreams of a professional ice dancing career must come to an end.

I had this surgery. Not going to sugar coat it, it's a bitch. Find a good PT and you'll be back up by spring.

I have a good friend that had tendon surgery at the VA and they delayed his therapy and lost most of the use of his hand. All they could recommend is another surgery with. 50/50 CHANCE OF GETTING THE USE BACK . I have had tendon surgery also and started PT the same week and had total recovery.

I got up on crutches for a bit yesterday and it hurt Like Hell for hours. I haven’t moved out of bed since last night and it it’s not too bad right now. What a hassle.

  24. Hey Ryan, I know this is an Old thread, but I just stumbled on it and thought I'd answer this question: "A few weeks after this shot was taken, he took the body off and replaced it with a roadster pick-up body. For some irrational reason, that depresses me and slows my mind down enough to where I can finally get to sleep." The reason that Dave swapped bodies is The Bay Area Roadsters were a fairly new club and Dave wanted in, but he didn't have a Roadster ........ the rest is History, including the fact that Greg Sharpe still owns the RPU - he bought it in 1969. Dave built another one in the 80's First-Street-Rod-of-the-Year-2-of-3.jpg

Well, I like the idea of swapping bodies. Don’t know how that question came up, but I don’t think it will happen with this coupe.

good news is: I’m feeling much better. I have lost fifty pounds and walking fairly normal. The coupe is doing fine, building a larger gas tank. Was planning on being on my way to the roundup today, but plans changed.

  27. This thread is addictive, I went back and re-read from the beginning.
    Good that you’re improving!
I broke my patella in two, but fortunately no tendon damage. Just some screws and stainless safety wire. Recovery was still a bitch. And now, 12 years later, that knee joint is worn out and facing replacement. Groan.
