    Exactly ;)

Glad you got it all squared away. He never was a real "friend".

A good lesson learned. I never let friends or family handle my $ :D

    OK ,Here goes,

My Pop TOLD me a long time ago ,
If a friend wants to borrow 10 bucks ,lend it to him,
If he pays you back you have a friend,
If he don't pay you back its worth the 10 bucks to be rid of him for good.
In our day and time I guess 10 bucks is about 500,right !

    Is the friendship worth $500?

My opinion is probably not, since he took it upon himself to spend your money and isn't even sorry for doing it, but of course my opinion isn't the one that matters.

In situations like this I usually suspect a substance abuse problem. What kind of guy needs $500 so bad as to lie and cheat a friend? A desperate guy, that's who. The kicker is that he said he ALREADY spent the money on his truck and didn't ask you first.

I'm sure if he needed it for food, you'd probably GIVE him the money.

Oh, on second thought, I wonder how much his finders fee (or markup) would be if you actually bought the car? Bend over, here it comes...

  14. He ain't no friend, he's a hemroid!! Some people have the biggest balls!

  15. We keep trusting till we are prooven wrong. Don't give up on everyone.

  16. Friends don't lend money to friends ..BANKS' LEND MONEY TO YOUR FRIENDS..

  17. I hate to be the one who says this, but it sounds like you are pretty gullible. I am a cheap curmudgeon so I would never have fallen for that. You are lucky it worked out.
Lesson learned I hope. Your only true friend is your momma.

  18. Well , That was a close one eh? You got a good life lesson and didn`t have to pay tuition! Glad it worked out for you .

  19. #uck him he's not your friend. When you get cash back in hand write him off.

  20. Lmao, and it continues. Anyone care to wager how many more times?

    Wow,
Consider this a good lesson in what came close to a real screw job by a supposed friend.
Glad you got your money back.
    And consider him GONE !!!
    Cheers.......

Yeah, that really sucks that he used your friendship like that. I've got a brother - inlaw with that same attitude: "The World revolves around me and my needs." Glad it worked out for you.

  23. When I was young my father told me if a person wants to borow money and you tell them no they will be pissed, if you loan them money they wont pay you back and when you ask for it back they will be pissed and not pay you back. The moral of the story don't loan money you want back.

I always take collateral, I try to find something worth twice the amount they need. The crazy thing is I have a lot of nice shit from people not paying me back. :D

When I as in High school I loaned someone money they kept bull shitting me about having it and trying to pay me back. I knocked on his parents door when he answered the door I gave him a good one right to the kisser, his mom screamed and dad ran outside, I left with the cash he owed me. Dumb I know but it worked. dont think it would go down like that today.

Ricky Ricardo once said, "Nunca hagas negocios con parientes ni con amigos" (Never do business with friends or relatives). glad you got your money back, but in the grand scheme of things, take it as a lesson learned and move on as quickly as possible.. too many cars out there waiting for ya..

I'm going to put a little of this back on you. How naive does a person have to be to send anyone, even a friend, $ 1000 without seeing the car or talking to the person selling it? Not to bust your chops, but 12 year old kids in Nigeria and Russia make a good living because of trusting souls like this.

You are damn lucky the guy gave up and sent the money back.

Sometimes I don't have time to read all the posts, but I usually skim some of them to one degree or another, sometimes I catch something of substance before I post, sometimes not....

But I figure if I post in error, most people will be be able to figure things out....

Glad you got your money back but if you hadn't,look in the mirror ask yourself What kind of dumbass sends $1000 for something sight unseen. You are lucky. Cash, friends, family are 3 words that don't belong in the same sentence.
