Brent , I did the chop about two years ago. It was about 3 1/2" in front and about 4" and some change in back. The rear window is stock laid down a little. Everything is leaded with a skim coat over it.
The grill really looks great. If you really like the Lyon caps I have 2 real, real nice ones I would be willing to sell. Let me know if you are interested and I can send you pictures.
I like it. I think the late 40's Mopar's have a lot of potential to be kustom fodder. The business coupe has the huge rear end that lends itself to the custom side. I love what you did with the car. I'd like to see more of these as customs. They're are still plenty of them out there and at very reasonable prices. I'd like to see some body extend the sail panels further down towards the rear end of the car to see how that would flow. Fryguy
Damn , I like it a lot ! What Paint plans do you have ? I hope you're gonna keep it " suede / matte " .
OldStyle, I'm gonna keep it this way for a while. I've got other projects going and the slightly "blotchy" finish on the sealer gives it the look I like for an old custom. I'm sure it will get pretty crappy over the summer of commuting the 60+ miles for work every day and weekend roadtrips, but this car was restyled to be driven.
Love the stance! I am in the middle of reworking the suspension on my 47' Plymouth. What tires are you running?
Nice to see something "Different"... Very nice indeed...really like those lines.. Thanks for sharing..
I also have a s10 subframe on my 47 , how did you lower the front springs and spindles , that's what I did but it's still not low enough Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
