Well, finally had a chance to start working on Knucklehead's coupe... Since he is tall, with a bum hip and ankle and retired senior citizen... we went with hi-boy... The patina on his car is amazing coming from the boneyards of Idaho, it hasn't really seen rust. The "squirt" boy with the monster pompadour just makes this thing look pretty neat Thinking about clearcoating it to try to save the overall paint on the car... but he decided a while ago not to paint it... at least not for now... Here ia a pic of a real bullet hole... not that its anything to be too proud of, but it's fun to play JFK sleuth and see the trajectory on his firewall where it came out... Here is a picture of his coupe at about lunch time... Just resting on the fresh cuts... And here it is about quitting time... Super happy that he went with the 5"...
looks great, changed the whole look, i see you went with upsplit bones on the rear, what other details have you done?
hahaha. i just saw this on pneumanaut... looks awesome. bigger meats in store for the rear i hope. no, i am sure about that. knowing you.
I think the server hosting the photos is having issues... I noticed that they are in and out of displaying the pics... Thanks guys, I am super stoked about the look of it now... flathead- Those actually aren't bones in the rear... I have had that rear end for about 7 years and have been waiting for just the right car to put it under... At a swap meet way back when I saw the Chromed 36 radius rods in the back of a sellers pick up, I used my cunning 6'4" prowess and girth to cut to the front of the line to buy them... I paid the guy asking price as fast as I could reach my wallet grabbed them, before the other 3 guys arguing with him about the price (all the money in my wallet) and started to leave... the guy says... "where do you think your going... you got to take what goes with it too"...He pulls back is tarp and there was the rearend... he say's "yeah this all comes with it... " needless to say I found a wagon kid to drag it around the swap meet for me. The geometry on the tabs that originally were set up on it, is a little funky and I have had a hard time getting the angles right... pain in the butt because I don't want to mess with the chrome, which generally I'm not into on drive trains... but with a highboy, it is almost acceptable
Looks alright, but now it seems so short that you need to channel it. Ida done a 3" chop, but it aint my car!! Is that jsut a regular windsor ford in there?
Preacher : Congrats!!! The chop really gives her a sweet profile! Hatch : Is that yer coupe? I'm lovin it!! That pic is now my new wallpaper on my work computer. There's just something about a badass model "A" coupe!!!!
Channel it? It already has a monster 1" micro channel... That cockpit is still roomy enough for both of us to make chili in... but I'm leaving it TALLLLLLLLLLL
Yes...my coupe....I'm heading to fla this fall for the winter.....if I still have it, I'll be in Jacksonville visiting family.
hatch..bitchin coupe man..whats the wheel tire sizes preacher....i love it un channeled!!!man,,,,,im workin on gettin my coupe pile built as we type ...now im really freekin!!!! grab your tools choprods!!!ill be there in 2 hours!
the chop looks great man, just the right amount. it needs a little channeling, it will be worth the sacrifice of comfort. come on all the cool kids are doin it.
no channel, take that un-sprung spring out and huck it over into your neighbors yard, it sits taller than stock!!!!!!!!!!!!!????? put a 40'ford rear spring in there and it will sit like rolfs coupe.....................Do it!!! looks good otherwise!
Amen to that. But at the end o' the day Preacher, it's your hotrod. Do it your-style! Its a Model A Coupe. It was born cool!
