Been trying to get my a$$ in gear on this thing. Got out in the shop today and finally got some primer on it. I sealed it with DP90 first, then shot 3 coats of CP440 2K primer on it. Probably block it with 220 one more time and apply 3 more coats of CP440 and block with 400-600 paper. It looks good enough now probably to sand with 400 and paint, buut once more won't hurt it.
Ty, That is looking absolutely awesome! I wish I had your body work and paint skills!........... Grant
I've been sanding away on this ol bomb! I think i finally got it in final prime. Got the deck lid fitting and looking good as well. I made a frame that sits inside of the roof opening. It is going to be removable for a nice sunny day. Got my color picked out and on the bench waiting. Dark Burgandy with a Ivory firewall.
Pulled the body yesterday to finish up the frame. Gonna try to get this thing in paint by the end of the month.
Car looks great and I love the horse-trading story that got you here. My girlfriend is doing a '51 Chevy on a budget of $1. I like the maroon color too, I think it was a great choice. I could see the body lines getting painted black against that maroon for a bit of two tone, too.
Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App! Got my frame painted up. Also added a sort of K member style to my crossmember.
Brakes are all plumbed as well as fuel lines and trans lines. Engines and trans in. Gonna paint the firewall and put this body back on this week.
Ty I hag a great time meeting you and your wife when I picked up the speedster. It looks better in person and you are what the car hobby is about. A great guy doing a great job. Thanks for the garage tour and the speedster Mark
It ended up being 5. LOL Had a fold down Caravan seat in it until last night when i switched it out for a stationary one. It can sit flat on the floor. The fold down one needs to sit up off the floor about an inch. It's all about the seat someone said and it's about true.
