Well I just added vintage 1967 Volvo front disc brakes. I took my used volvo rotors to cooks machine shop in Los Angeles and they opened the bearing/race surfaces to accept willys races, only $200. Supposedly this is what they did back in the 60's-70's for the gasser willys, of course I could be wrong.
Wow, you have a knack for finding more part's and pieces for this car. Like the disc brake adaptation.
Hotrod Ron here on the board built a 32 5 window coupe out of lots of pieces and drives it everywhere. If he can do it, you can too.
Keep it and do what you can with it! Not that many left anymore! Good luck and keep us in pics on progress... Cheers.......
Holy smokes Jeff, you got more patience than me! You sure got your work cut out for you!! I see you have someone to make parts for you but there's a guy in the So. Bay area (Jim Frank) that used to sell Willys body parts and pieces. PM me if you're interested and I can try and locate him. If you come up this way again, we can possibly go over to Kiwi Kev's place as his Willys was pieced together too and has a lot of knowledge. He was the person that started the original West Coast Willys Club and currently piecing a P/U together. Are you a member of the Mid America Willys Club or West Coast Willys Club? You may want to join to locate parts - MA Willys is out of Tuscon, AZ and WCWC is an online club but good info and advice on both. I notice your coupe has no floor, what's the shape of the sedan's floor? You can use the sedan floor too if that's good. Anyway, hats off to you on your build! Vic
You're absolutely right there. It would be cheaper and easier to find a better body in most cases. But that's not why we do it
Did i forget to say how awesome and affordable and fast lee kay is? willys coupe LEE KAY 949-903-3322
I just want to refresh everyone's memory, this car was pulled from a river with a tree growing through the roof! Oh yeah I almost forgot, it had a cable going through the windows to hold it in place.
