Hot Rods 9-1/2' Preesure Plate for 1937 21 Stud Flathead V8?

Hi lads,

Can I use a 9-1/2" pressure plate on a '37 flathead V8 using a '32 3 speed toploader? I know that a 9" is the right one to use, but I have access to a new 9-1/2" unit.

Back story is that I bought a 10" pressure plate from Speedway recent that I can't use because the counterweights interfere with the bellhousing section of the toploader. Can you grind away the counterweights for clearance? Thanks.
