I woke up thinking about a motor with an 8X2 intake and 8 y-adapters 16X2. Just wondering if it is possible

Possible? Probably (or possibly...har har har)
Practical? about as practical as sixteen radio antennas
Traditional? about as traditional as continental kits on the front of the car

Someone will get rich designing operating linkage for this truly "innovative" setup.

There have been some very silly things done to cars in the name of "different", and if you manage to accomplish this, you'll be given a new name also.

Just sketch it out - use it for your avatar.

Maybe you could use Y-adapters on that 16x2 and run a 32x2.

What are you planning to put this 16x2 on? I think it would look dumb.
  7. Yes. Really expensive, really ugly, totally unreliable, and runs like dog shit.
  8. what if you turned all of those adapters upside down and began connecting them all and ending up with 1 1barrell carb on top of 50 or so adapters, that would look better and easier to hook throttle inkage to.
  9. Wow Man! That would be just the Coolist!:p;)

Foolishness of the first order, but this is America, so feel free to be as foolish as you deem necessary.

Don't let other people tell you what is cool, or not if you can dream it build it. Most people just go with the flow, cookie cutter cars. all i herd when i was building my car was not to do this, or not to do that but i did what i wanted, and in the end i'm happy. good luck

Makes one wonder, could Y-adapters be applied to the 8 turbocharger '57 Chevy?

I believe these pics came off ebay.

I think it would be neat to do. You would probably want to block off all but 2 or 3 carbs so the motor is streetable. Go for it!
