My students lost the crank bolts to a 49 Ford Custom and I was wondering if anyone knew the sizes of the bolts?

Make that "bolt" in singular. Had a student post that... They lost the crank bolt to our flathead and I've got nothing that size laying around.

"The crank thread is 5/8 UNF.

Mart." Mart on Fordbarn. Parts catalogs describe fasteners, can be very useful on stuff like this.
Remember, you need the big and very thick washer too...

Hi Joe, Pontiac balancer bolt & washer is the same as the Flatheads.

P.S. Pontiac's should be much easier to find locally??

We stock the bolt and washer as a kit (20639-SK). Call our office in the morning if you can't find it elsewhere.

Too bad they did away with corporal punishment in school. That's how you learned not to lose things. Ah, the good old days (sigh).

And neither the bolt nor the washer are going to be a Home Depot, so go with Van Pelt!

I'll probably be giving you a call. I actually didn't really "know" about you until this post, yet I just realized that I printed off the torque specs for our motor from your website yesterday. Small world...

Mac, I've had a student try calling your number on your website the last couple days and she wasn't able to get through. She said she left a message on Friday.
