  2. WOW! Do they have a price in mind for the Edsel Model 40?

Thanks (as always) for sharing your trips- it's been 20+ years since I've been to Germany (Mom's from Kiel) and your threads bring back lots of great memories of toy store hunting with my dad!

Cool story and photos. I hope Barris doesn't get his hands on that Lincoln!

It might be neat to see a mini-Barris cutting that thing up, and Hines chewing on the worlds smallest cigar.

    Jive...

That "Futura" is awesome ! I was just talking to my Cousin the other nite about diecasts, and told him that I'd seen plastic model kits, models, of the Futura...but never a diecast. And that if a really faithful version of one came out I'd sure like to have it.

So, okay, now you've got me interested ! Really hope one of those hits the States by later this year.

    Many thanks...

Thanks for sharing. Anymore pix? I have collected a few German antique toy cars over the years, and appreciate german craftsmenship of this quality.

  8. I was worried when I first read you were in Nuremburg Jay!

  9. I had the pleasure of attending that trade show for several years back in the 90's when I was the Automobilia Manager at The Eastwood Company. Seven buildings chock-a-block full of every genre of toy known to mankind. The best 10 years of my working career...period.

  10. Edsel's Speedster looks like it's sitting on a Hollywood Walk of Fame star ?!?!?
    Great shots-thanks for sharing.

I acquired a '56 AMT Futura a few years ago and decided to sell it.Some bozo from Texas yanked me on it for several weeks ,so I decided to keep it.I just love the look of that car.I'll be the first kid on my block to have the diecast, too.

Cool, thanks for posting - gotta have that Model 40!

  19. Bought this today for my 2-year old son. It just came out from playmobil and is a very hamb-friendly toy.
It has a friction motor and a launch-ramp. The driver is a real thug with tattoos and sideburns. I think I will also get me one for the shelf...
