    What 5 speed setups work well behind a 70 model Ford 240 6cyl? Do's, don'ts, etc?

If I remember correctly, the 240 & 300 Ford sixes use the same block pattern as small block Ford V8's. If that is correct, but what I don't know is if they were 5 bolt or changed to 6 bolt, as did the V8's. But, if that is correct you should be able to use a V8 bellhousing designed for the T5 and, of course a T5 tranny, from a Mustang or T-bird.

The 240-300 uses the same 6 bolt bell housing pattern as the all the Ford small blocks did since 1965, but the 240-300 uses a internal balance flywheel. The only real difference is that you have to use either a 157 or 164 tooth flywheel depending on the bell housing you use.

  5. Any idea why summit is selling an external balance flywheel for the 240-300 as well as the sbf v8's? Same flywheel for all of those applications.
    I'm just asking.
