Kindly refrain from drubbing us mercilessly with your factfull, information rich sidebars.
Man, I saw the title and thought my wife had been running her mouth about me. Haha.
Just watched it for like the 124th time..... Dude.... It's Life, It's love, It's everything....
Damn TS, am I glad you resurrected this thread HOLY SHIT!
Me too! That wreck was BAD! And he climbs out of it and hops in that BAD ASS ambulance!
Back when the average Joe could get off work, head out to the garage and build a highly competetive car.
The garage they used, their mindset, and the tools they used to work on that car in the film seriously made me stop and re-think my tool buying habit.
Definately a Sunday-morning-real-loud-on-surround-sound-while-the wife-and-kids-are-at-church movie!!!!!!
Good stuff man. Ya gotta love drag racing Thanks for sharing Ryan.
Here's Jack Wayre's dealership....
And I'm pretty sure this is the "cave" where that footage was taken:
Just some shots from my Garden Grove Tour.....
Does anybody know if the original soundtrack to the movie is available in any form?

One of the best threads on this joint.
I saw this thread and it kind've went dead so I thought that if anybody was interested I would get Rick Stewart to maybe come on and tell a story or two or three.I'm just feeling this out to see if there's any interest before I call and ask him.Thanks.
Really, you have to ask if there would be any interest?
I am sure anything Rick would add would be welcome.
Yes. Get Rick Stewart to tell stories. Lots of stories.
I talked to Rick this morning he seemed interested in checking the HAMB out so we'll see what happens. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it and maybe you guys will too.
I love ya but that's just too much for me. Makes me queezy just to think about it.
I have got to get a copy of that.
The very beginning of the movie shows Don Hamptons first wife,Eedie jumping around like a crazy woman.
Don had just taken off & if you watch her mouth she's screaming GGo You Sonofabitch!
I just spoke to the iceman and he's registering so he can tell a tale or two.
did we ever get Rick on the HAMB?
Film Maker Les Blank (this was his first) died today...
WOW! That really puts a damper on this thread! Sorry to hear this.
One of my favorite movies...Those old FED drivers were the FIRST Super Heros!
Not trying to beat this thread to death but does anyone know the name of the Canned Heat tune that keeps repeating and closes the flick. Been searching for it on Grooveshark but an't find a title.
It's a remake of big road blues with drag racing lyrics in it you can find it but it's not exactly the same as the song in the movie
