Very Cool build Love the name & paint, woooo and that hard top roof line. Hope you getter done by next Meltdown.
Floors cut out. Pans fit and ready to weld in. Showed hot dog how to do gold leaf lettering. Looks like shit though. Gold leaf pieces too small , sizing drying up too fast. Brush over it with one shot. Red lettering here we come. Long day. Time for grilling and drinking. Notice tickety boo, frying and drinking. Btw , hot dog scored a fresh c4 today too!!!
Hopefully tickety boo brings some wisc cheese we will trade him a stick of smoked summer sausage lol.... lol FYI hungry Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well a little more done. Left quarter patched. It was creased pretty bad so hotdog got a crash course in shrinking metal. He got to handle the dolly"heat sink". It's tightened up and ready for mud. Stretched left wheel opening too Also fabbing the steering arm for right spindle . Plan to hit the bodywork hard. This pos needs a paint job. ASAP. Gotta keep it interesting so it doesn't end up on death row with the other junk.
Plans are for a 357" Windsor 12:1 180cc Flow tek aluminum heads Stock crank and rods hypertuetic (spelling?) pistons flat tappet hydraulic cam ( maintenance free for a newbie) c4 3500 stall converter and a 4:11-4:30 9". Hoping for a 12 second 3000lb car. Enough to have fun getting his feet wet without having too much power. Hoping I'm on the right track!
The Windsor's a nice choice. As far as a cam I'd go go for a tight lash, solid cam and pick up an extra 20-30 hp. Adjusting valve lash twice a year really isn't a big deal.
One thing for sure I'll be going with bullet cam and they will choose the profile. No more shelf cams for me. The one in my falcon was a compromise at best. No more
Right quarter patched. Wheel opening stretched. Bodywork be done on it tomorrow. Closer to primer. Then the decklid next. Only gonna be a race car paint job. I do this for a living so I feel I have to justify why it's not top quality. Guzzling beer now!
Bullet is the only way to go, my chevelle hasn't hurt a roller lifter in 15000 street miles, runs great, the Dragster I had went 4.50's in the 1/8, run it 2 seasons and the lifters were like new and the springs were still in spec.
Love this!! I'm working on an altered fx chevy II... can't get enough of these cars Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
